Work and refugee integration in Sweden

open access: yesForced Migration Review, 2014
One of the main challenges facing refugees trying to integrate in their host country is finding a suitable job. Sweden recognises this issue and is investing in making inclusion in the labour market the driver of refugee integration.

General Equilibrium Effects of (Improving) Public Employment Programs: Experimental Evidence from India

open access: yesEconometrica, 2017
Public employment programs may affect poverty both directly through the income they provide and indirectly through general equilibrium effects. We estimate both effects, exploiting a reform that improved the implementation of India's National Rural ...

Reciprocal control of viral infection and phosphoinositide dynamics

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Phosphoinositides, although scarce, regulate key cellular processes, including membrane dynamics and signaling. Viruses exploit these lipids to support their entry, replication, assembly, and egress. The central role of phosphoinositides in infection highlights phosphoinositide metabolism as a promising antiviral target.

An intracellular transporter mitigates the CO2‐induced decline in iron content in Arabidopsis shoots

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This study identifies a gene encoding a transmembrane protein, MIC, which contributes to the reduction of shoot Fe content observed in plants under elevated CO2. MIC is a putative Fe transporter localized to the Golgi and endosomal compartments. Its post‐translational regulation in roots may represent a potential target for improving plant nutrition ...

Characterizing the salivary RNA landscape to identify potential diagnostic, prognostic, and follow‐up biomarkers for breast cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study explores salivary RNA for breast cancer (BC) diagnosis, prognosis, and follow‐up. High‐throughput RNA sequencing identified distinct salivary RNA signatures, including novel transcripts, that differentiate BC from healthy controls, characterize histological and molecular subtypes, and indicate lymph node involvement.

Investigating the cell of origin and novel molecular targets in Merkel cell carcinoma: a historic misnomer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study indicates that Merkel cell carcinoma (MCC) does not originate from Merkel cells, and identifies gene, protein & cellular expression of immune‐linked and neuroendocrine markers in primary and metastatic Merkel cell carcinoma (MCC) tumor samples, linked to Merkel cell polyomavirus (MCPyV) status, with enrichment of B‐cell and other immune cell
