Transferrin receptor 1‐mediated iron uptake supports thermogenic activation in human cervical‐derived adipocytes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.

AAA+ protein unfoldases—the Moirai of the proteome

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
AAA+ unfoldases are essential molecular motors that power protein degradation and disaggregation. This review integrates recent cryo‐electron microscopy (cryo‐EM) structures and single‐molecule biophysical data to reconcile competing models of substrate translocation.

Condensate deformation and quantum depletion of Bose-Einstein condensates in external potentials

open access: yes, 2012
The one-body density matrix of weakly interacting, condensed bosons in external potentials is calculated using inhomogeneous Bogoliubov theory. We determine the condensate deformation caused by weak external potentials on the mean-field level.

A measure of conductivity for lattice fermions at finite density [PDF]

open access: yes, 2000
We study the linear response to an external electric field of a system of fermions in a lattice at zero temperature. This allows to measure numerically the Euclidean conductivity which turns out to be compatible with an analytical calculation for free ...

The European Union’s external action: views from the outside

open access: yesEurope and the World, 2022
While most studies in EU external relations law take an inside-out perspective, the question of how the EU and its external action is viewed from the ‘outside’ is hardly ever raised in EU legal scholarship.

The Godel metric in the Chern-Simons modified gravity

open access: yes, 2012
We discuss the consistency of the Godel metric within the Chern-Simons modified gravity, both for external and dynamical Chern-Simons coefficients.Comment: 6 pages; to be published in the Proceedings of 5th International Workshop on Astronomy and ...
