Puerarin inhibits vascular calcification of uremic rats
European Journal of Pharmacology, 2019The risk of cardiovascular events in patients with chronic kidney disease is tremendously increased due to vascular calcification. Local vascular inflammation significantly promotes vascular calcification. A previous study has shown that puerarin inhibits calcification of mouse vascular smooth muscle cells (VSMCs) in vitro, but whether puerarin can ...

Recent Advances in Methods of Puerarin Biotransformation
Mini-Reviews in Medicinal Chemistry, 2016Puerarin is an isoflavonoid extracted from the roots of Pueraria lobata in the Pueraria thomsonii family. Puerarin displays a broad range of pharmacological activities and has been widely used in clinics. However, puerarin's low solubility and permeability result in poor gastrointestinal absorption and low bioavailability.

Impact of kudzu and puerarin on sperm function
Reproductive Toxicology, 2015The goal of this study was to investigate the impact of kudzu (Pueraria mirifica) and the isoflavone puerarin in functional toxicological tests on spermatozoa and to assess the affinity of extracts and pure isoflavones for estrogen receptor (ER)-alpha and -beta (ERα, ERβ) in receptor binding assays.

Preparation and Characterization of Puerarin-Loaded Lipid Nanocapsules
Journal of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology, 2015The puerarin-loaded lipid nanocapsules (PUE-LNCs), composed of labrafac, lipoid and water, were prepared with a phase inversion procedure. The formulation was optimized by simplex lattice design and characterized for its size, zeta potential and in vitro drug release.

Puerarin as an antioxidant fluorescence probe
Chemical Physics Letters, 2008Abstract Diphenolic isoflavonoid puerarin fluoresces in aqueous solution with maximal intensity at pH 8.5 (Φfl = 0.042, τfl = 1.91 ns). For acidic solutions, weak fluorescence is attributed to fluorescent 7-monophenolate formed via excited-state deprotonation of neutral puerarin.

[Isolation and purification of puerarin from puerarin extractive by chelate complex chromatography].
Se pu = Chinese journal of chromatography, 2010Puerarin, an isoflavone compound, is an important ingredient in traditional Chinese medicine, which has the good medical effects on hypertension and angina. A new type of separation and purification method for isolating puerarin was developed using chelate complex chromatography. The stationary phase was prepared with silica gel containing 7% of Cu(OAc)

Puerarin (PUE), an isoflavone with anti-inflammation, anti-oxidation and neuroprotection effects, has been widely applied to the treatment of cardiovascular diseases in clinics in China. In the current study, we reported that the active pharmaceutical ingredient (API) of marketed products was the PUE monohydrate (PUEMH).

[Puerarin induces apoptosis in A549 cells].
Zhongguo ying yong sheng li xue za zhi = Zhongguo yingyong shenglixue zazhi = Chinese journal of applied physiology, 2018To explore the effect of puerarin induced apoptosis in human non-small cell lung canner A549 cells and its possible mechanisms.A549 cells were cultivated in vitro. When 80%~90% confluence was reached, they were treated with puerarin in different concentration (60、120、240 μg/ml).
