Abstract A 21‐month‐old, male poodle was referred for evaluation of acute lethargy, anorexia and hypovolaemic shock. Initial diagnostic work‐up revealed severe regenerative anaemia, thrombocytopenia and leukocytosis. Abdominal ultrasonography identified free fluid and a suspected mass, with haemoperitoneum confirmed via abdominocentesis.

Implications of Tobacco Use on Pathogen‐Driven Diseases: A Public Health and Policy Perspective
ABSTRACT The tobacco epidemic remains one of the most significant global public health challenges, responsible for over 8 million deaths annually, with a substantial portion occurring among non‐smokers exposed to second‐hand smoke. While cigarette smoking remains the most prevalent form of tobacco use worldwide, the rise of electronic nicotine delivery

The Cellular and Physiological Basis for Lung Repair and Regeneration: Past, Present, and Future. [PDF]
The respiratory system, which includes the trachea, airways, and distal alveoli, is a complex multi-cellular organ that intimately links with the cardiovascular system to accomplish gas exchange.

Clinical biological and genetic heterogeneity of the inborn errors of pulmonary surfactant metabolism [PDF]
Pulmonary surfactant is a multimolecular complex located at the air-water interface within the alveolus to which a range of physical (surface-active properties) and immune functions has been assigned. This complex consists of a surface-active lipid layer

Cardiovascular Plasticity and Adaptation of High‐Altitude Birds and Mammals
This schematic depicts the cardiovascular adaptations of mammals and birds to high‐altitude hypoxia. It highlights key phenotypic changes in oxygen transport and cardiac responses, driven by molecular mechanisms including transcriptional regulation and genetic modifications.

Pulmonary alveolar microlithiasis: A case report and brief review of literature [PDF]
Background: Pulmonary alveolar microlithiasis (PAM), a rare autosomal recessive pulmonary disease, is mainly characterized by extensive calcium phosphate microliths deposition in the alveoli. The major mutation, causing the characteristic of this disease,

Organoids as a Powerful Model for Respiratory Diseases
Insults to the alveoli usually lead to inefficient gas exchange or even respiratory failure, which is difficult to model in animal studies. Over the past decade, stem cell-derived self-organizing three-dimensional organoids have emerged as a new avenue ...
