ABSTRACT Background Chronic thromboembolic pulmonary disease (CTEPD) leads to chronic total occlusions (CTOs) of the pulmonary arteries in a minority of patients. Treatment of CTOs with balloon pulmonary angioplasty (BPA) may substantially improve patient hemodynamics but presents unique technical challenges and has previously been associated with a ...

Thinned apple polyphenols (TAP) extract reduced ferroptosis in acute and chronic lung injuries. TAP activated Nrf2 and modulated key biomarkers (MDA, NOX4, GPX4, FTH1), leading to decreased inflammation and fibrosis. These findings suggest TAP as a potential therapeutic approach for lung injury through ferroptosis regulation. ABSTRACT Acute and chronic

Quinoa protein peptides (QPP) were prepared via pepsin hydrolysis and showed strong in vitro antioxidant activity. In D‐galactose‐induced aging mice, QPP alleviated organ damage, enhanced antioxidant enzyme activities, and upregulated hepatic antioxidant gene and protein expression. QPP is a promising natural anti‐aging ingredient for functional foods.

Three-dimensional reconstruction of alveoli in the rat lung for pressure-volume relationships
To determine alveolar pressure-volume relationships, alveolar three-dimensional reconstructions were prepared from lungs fixed by vascular perfusion at various points on the pressure-volume curve.
