Role of Kv7 channels in responses of the pulmonary circulation to hypoxia
Hypoxic pulmonary vasoconstriction (HPV) is a beneficial mechanism that diverts blood from hypoxic alveoli to better ventilated areas of the lung, but breathing hypoxic air causes the pulmonary circulation to become hypertensive.

The association between blood eosinophil (EOS) counts and arterial/venous thrombosis is unclear. We aim to explore whether EOS count is a risk factor for thrombosis.

Regulation of the pulmonary circulation [PDF]
Factors regulating pressure and flow in the lungs are reviewed with particular emphasis on their role in regulating blood flow velocity and distribution within the lung capillaries. The behaviour of the pulmonary arterial, system, alveolar capillaries, and pulmonary venous system are considered individually.

Aminorex and the pulmonary circulation [PDF]
Aminorex (2-amino-5-phenyl-2-oxazoline) is an appetite-suppressing drug which was available in Switzerland from November 1965 to October 1968. In 1967 a sudden 20-fold increase in the incidence of primary pulmonary hypertension was observed in a Swiss medical clinic.

An algorithm to identify cases of pulmonary arterial hypertension from the electronic medical record
Background Study of pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH) in claims-based (CB) cohorts may facilitate understanding of disease epidemiology, however previous CB algorithms to identify PAH have had limited test characteristics.

ObjectivesPatients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) have high morbidity and mortality, the opportunity to carry out a thoracic high-resolution CT (HRCT) scan may increase the possibility to identify the group at risk of disease.

Optimal fenestration of the Fontan circulation [PDF]
In this paper, we develop a pulsatile compartmental model of the Fontan circulation and use it to explore the effects of a fenestration added to this physiology. A fenestration is a shunt between the systemic and pulmonary veins that is added either at the time of Fontan conversion or at a later time for the treatment of complications.
