Human adenovirus serotype 5 was used to infect HEK293 fibroblasts at low MOI (0.5, 1.0, and 2.0). Infected cells were interrogated by gas chromatography time‐of‐flight mass spectrometry (GC‐TOF‐MS) at 6, 12, 24, and 36 h post‐infection. The total metabolites were evaluated using an untargeted analysis of primary carbons. The results indicate a decrease

Purine nucleoside phosphorylase activity in acute lymphoblastic leukemia [PDF]
Purine nucleoside phosphorylase (PNP) activity has been measured in the lymphoblasts of 22 patients with acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) and correlated with routine immunologic cell surface markers. Fourteen of the 22 patients were considered to have non-T, non-B-cell ALL; 8 patients had T-cell disease.

A computational investigation of the reported abiotic phosphorylation of ribose and the subsequent formation of ribonucleosides reveals that the most plausible reaction mechanism involves the protonation of ribose, followed by carbocation formation and an SN2 substitution step.

ABSTRACT Several reports have demonstrated that CD147, an N‐glycosylated protein that is exchanged by cells in soluble form or through small extracellular vesicles (sEVs), can promote cancer progression. However, its activity related to EVs in colorectal cancer (CRC) is still not fully understood.

Partial Purine Nucleoside Phosphorylase Deficiency [PDF]
Immune function in two brothers with a deficiency of purine nucleoside phosphorylase was evaluated in vivo and in vitro. Both patients had a history of recurrent infections and profound lymphopenia. Studies of cell-mediated immunity revealed an absence of delayed cutaneous reactivity to a number of antigens, including dinitrochlorobenzene, and ...

Purine nucleoside phosphorylase (PNP) deficiency: across-the-board severe combined immunodeficiency
Background Purine nucleoside phosphorylase (PNP) deficiency is a rare, autosomal recessive, inborn error of immunity. It is characterized by progressive immune abnormalities ranging from severe combined immunodeficiency (SCID) to combined ...
