Astrocytic and Oligodendrocytic P2X7 Receptors Determine Neuronal Functions in the CNS
P2X7 receptors are members of the ATP-gated cationic channel family with a preferential localization at the microglial cells, the resident macrophages of the brain.

NAD+ regeneration by mitochondrial complex I NADH dehydrogenase is important for cancer cell proliferation. Specifically, NAD+ is necessary for the activities of NAD+‐dependent deacetylases SIRT3 and SIRT7, which suppress the expression of p21Cip1 cyclin‐dependent kinase inhibitor, an antiproliferative molecule, at the translational and transcriptional

Vanishing of self-extensions over symmetric algebras [PDF]
We study self-extensions of modules over symmetric artin algebras. We show that non-projective modules with eventually vanishing self-extensions must lie in AR components of stable type $\mathbb{Z}A_{\infty}$. Moreover, the degree of the highest non-vanishing self-extension of these modules is determined by their quasilength.

Low expression of five purine metabolism‐related genes (ADSL, APRT, ADCY3, NME3, NME6) was correlated with poor survival in colorectal cancer. Immunohistochemistry analysis showed that low NME3 (early stage) and low ADSL/NME6 (late stage) levels were associated with high risk.

Gene Algebra from a Genetic Code Algebraic Structure [PDF]
The biological distinction between the base positions in the codon, the chemical types of bases (purine and pyrimidine) and their hydrogen bond number have been the most relevant codon properties used in the genetic code analysis. Now, these properties have allowed us to build a Genetic Code ring isomorphic to the ring (Z64, +,*) of the integer module ...

We obtained potential bacterial laccase‐like multicopper oxidase (LMCO) sequences through metagenomic sequencing. All sequences exhibited significant differences from known LMCOs in databases. To select the most promising candidates, we performed structure prediction and molecular docking using alphafold2, metal3d and rosetta.

The gut microbiota is implicated in the pathogenesis of hyperuricemia (HUA) and gout. However, it remains unclear whether probiotics residing in the host gut, such as Lactobacillus, can prevent HUA development. Herein, we isolated Lactobacillus plantarum

Temperature and Tautomeric Effects in High-Resolution Oxygen 1s X-ray Photoelectron Spectroscopy of Purines and Pyrimidines [PDF]
Purines and pyrimidines, crucial building blocks in biological systems, have attracted significant interest across molecular physics, biochemistry, pharmacology, and chemistry. Extensive spectroscopies have been employed for characterization, while the temperature and potential tautomeric effects can complicate the interpretation of underlying physics ...
