Radiation‐induced hypothyroidism follows head and neck radiotherapy due to oxidative stress and inflammation. Electrospun polycaprolactone scaffolds containing adenosine have potential to modulate thyroid repair. Scaffolds enhance thyrocyte proliferation, antioxidant enzymes glutathione peroxidase and catalase, reduce senescence and apoptosis markers ...

Versatile synthesis and biological evaluation of novel 3’-fluorinated purine nucleosides
A unified synthetic strategy accessing novel 3'-fluorinated purine nucleoside derivatives and their biological evaluation were achieved. Novel 3’-fluorinated analogues were constructed from a common 3’-deoxy-3’-fluororibofuranose intermediate.

Mass Spectrometry Study of New Polyamine Derivatives of Caffeine
The mass spectrometric fragmentations of ten new 8-alkylaminocaffeine derivatives were investigated. The fragmentation pathways of new polyamine derivatives of caffeine on the basis of low and high-resolution electron ionization (EI) mass spectra were ...

Purine and pyrimidine bases as growth substances for lactic acid bacteria [PDF]
In 1936 Richardson (1) showed that uracil was essential for the anaerobic growth of Staphylococcus aureus, but not for aerobic growth of the same organism.

Exploration of factors driving incorporation of unnatural dNTPS into DNA by Klenow fragment (DNA polymerase I) and DNA polymerase {alpha} [PDF]
In order to further understand how DNA polymerases discriminate against incorrect dNTPs, we synthesized two sets of dNTP analogues and tested them as substrates for DNA polymerase a (pol alpha) and Klenow fragment (exo-) of DNA polymerase I (Escherichia ...

This study established an RT‐MSCs‐based therapeutic approach for scleroderma in mice. RT‐MSCs attenuated fibrosis by regulating mitochondrial autophagy and restored gut microbiota homeostasis. Metabolomic analyses confirmed recovery of key metabolites, and RT‐MSCs demonstrated favorable lesion targeting and safety profiles.

Proteogenomic characterization of cholangiocarcinoma
Proteogenomic characterization of cholangiocarcinoma with therapeutic strategies Abstract Background and Aims Cholangiocarcinoma (CCA) is a highly heterogeneous cancer with limited understanding and few effective therapeutic approaches. We aimed at providing a proteogenomic CCA characterization to inform biological processes and treatment ...
