Electrochemical Determination of Benzene Substituted Derivatives using Carbon Based Purine Electrodes through Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy

open access: yesInternational Journal of Electrochemical Science, 2014
Purine nucleobases, guanine and adenine, are known electroactive compounds which get oxidized over the carbon electrodes. These compounds are found to react with benzene derivatives forming its adducts.

Targeting Post‐Irradiation Thyroid Dysfunction: Electrospun Scaffolds As A Dual‐Action Approach for Antioxidant and Immune Modulation

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Radiation‐induced hypothyroidism follows head and neck radiotherapy due to oxidative stress and inflammation. Electrospun polycaprolactone scaffolds containing adenosine have potential to modulate thyroid repair. Scaffolds enhance thyrocyte proliferation, antioxidant enzymes glutathione peroxidase and catalase, reduce senescence and apoptosis markers ...

Versatile synthesis and biological evaluation of novel 3’-fluorinated purine nucleosides

open access: yesBeilstein Journal of Organic Chemistry, 2015
A unified synthetic strategy accessing novel 3'-fluorinated purine nucleoside derivatives and their biological evaluation were achieved. Novel 3’-fluorinated analogues were constructed from a common 3’-deoxy-3’-fluororibofuranose intermediate.

Mass Spectrometry Study of New Polyamine Derivatives of Caffeine

open access: yesActa Chimica Slovenica, 2018
The mass spectrometric fragmentations of ten new 8-alkylaminocaffeine derivatives were investigated. The fragmentation pathways of new polyamine derivatives of caffeine on the basis of low and high-resolution electron ionization (EI) mass spectra were ...

1,2,3-Triazoles as leaving groups: SNAr reactions of 2,6-bistriazolylpurines with O- and C-nucleophiles

open access: yesBeilstein Journal of Organic Chemistry, 2021
A new approach was designed for the synthesis of C6-substituted 2-triazolylpurine derivatives. A series of substituted products was obtained in SNAr reactions between 2,6-bistriazolylpurine derivatives and O- and C-nucleophiles under mild conditions. The

Purine and pyrimidine bases as growth substances for lactic acid bacteria [PDF]

open access: yes, 1941
In 1936 Richardson (1) showed that uracil was essential for the anaerobic growth of Staphylococcus aureus, but not for aerobic growth of the same organism.

Exploration of factors driving incorporation of unnatural dNTPS into DNA by Klenow fragment (DNA polymerase I) and DNA polymerase {alpha} [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
In order to further understand how DNA polymerases discriminate against incorrect dNTPs, we synthesized two sets of dNTP analogues and tested them as substrates for DNA polymerase a (pol alpha) and Klenow fragment (exo-) of DNA polymerase I (Escherichia ...

Time‐Controlled Refrigerated Stem Cell Therapy Mitigates Scleroderma Fibrosis via Modulation of Mitochondrial Autophagy and Gut Metabolism

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study established an RT‐MSCs‐based therapeutic approach for scleroderma in mice. RT‐MSCs attenuated fibrosis by regulating mitochondrial autophagy and restored gut microbiota homeostasis. Metabolomic analyses confirmed recovery of key metabolites, and RT‐MSCs demonstrated favorable lesion targeting and safety profiles.

Unraveling RNA contribution to the molecular origins of bacterial surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy (SERS) signals

open access: yesScientific Reports
Surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy (SERS) is widely utilized in bacterial analyses, with the dominant SERS peaks attributed to purine metabolites released during sample preparation.
