Control of ATP homeostasis during the respiro‐fermentative transition in yeast

open access: yesMolecular Systems Biology, 2010
Respiring Saccharomyces cerevisiae cells respond to a sudden increase in glucose concentration by a pronounced drop of their adenine nucleotide content ([ATP]+[ADP]+[AMP]=[AXP]).

Increments in DNA-thioguanine level during thiopurine-enhanced maintenance therapy of acute lymphoblastic leukemia

open access: yesHaematologica, 2021
Maintenance therapy containing methotrexate and 6-mercapto - purine is essential to cure acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL). Cytotoxicity is elicited by incorporation of thioguanine nucleotides into DNA (DNA-TG), and higher leukocyte DNA-TG is ...

HNRNPU K181 Lactylation Drives Cervical Cancer Growth by Upregulating PHGDH and Reprogramming Serine Metabolism

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Lactate in cervical cancer induces HNRNPU K181 lactylation, opposed by NAA50‐mediated acetylation and suppressed by Pazopanib. This lactylation enhances HNRNPU binding to PHGDH pre‐mRNA exon 1, maintaining exon 1‐containing transcripts and mRNA stability, thereby activating serine metabolism.

Regulation of Acanthamoeba castellanii alternative oxidase activity by mutual exclusion of purine nucleotides; ATP's inhibitory effect. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
peer reviewedThe effects of different adenine and guanine nucleotides on the cyanide-resistant respiration (i.e. alternative oxidase (AcAOX) activity) of mitochondria from the amoeba A. castellanii mitochondria were studied.

Bifidobacterium Pseudolongum‐Derived Inosine Mitigates Polystyrene Nanoplastics‐Induced Hepatic Injury by Inhibiting the Polarization of M1 Macrophages

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Probiotic B.p colonization elevated gut‐derived inosine level in the liver, while elevated inosine activated A2AR and subsequently blocked NPs‐induced polarization of M1 macrophages by repressing the miR155/SOCS1/NF‐κB pathway. This reduced the release of inflammatory cytokines and thereby, mitigated NPs‐induced hepatic injury.

VDAC1 Upregulation Induces Hyperexcitability of Nociceptive Sensory Neurons Via Enhanced Mitochondrial Atp Efflux in Neuropathic Pain

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The mechanism diagram of VDAC1 mediating neuronal excitability and neuropathic pain. Briefly, VDAC1 is expressed in DRG neurons and is upregulated following CCI‐induced neuropathic pain. This upregulation enhances ATP transport from mitochondria to the cytoplasm in sensory neurons, leading to increased neuronal excitability and pain behavior.

Extraction and assay of creatine phosphate, purine, and pyridine nucleotides in cardiac tissue by reversed-phase high-performance liquid chromatography [PDF]

open access: yes, 1994
The levels of creatine phosphate, purine, and pyridine nucleotides in tissues provide important information on energetic and oxidative cellular states. Nevertheless, technical, theoretical, and methodological difficulties in extraction and quantification

Methyl jasmonate elicitation of common bean seedlings induces nucleotidase activity and the expression of several nucleotidase genes in radicles

open access: yesBiologia Plantarum, 2021
Nucleotides are the basic elements of the genetic material, participate in bio-energetic processes, are cofactors and components of secondary metabolites, etc. Nucleotide hydrolases (nucleotidases) are phosphatases that remove the 5'-phosphate group from

Stage‐Specific H3K14 and H3K23 Succinylation Orchestrates Insect Metamorphosis and Oogenesis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Stage‐specific succinylation of histone H3 at lysine 14 and 23 differentially controls insect metamorphosis and oogenesis through distinct GPCR‐PKC signaling cascades, revealing an evolutionarily conserved epigenetic mechanism that coordinates key life‐history traits.
