The Role of Ion Channels in Pulmonary Hypertension: A Review
ABSTRACT Pulmonary hypertension (PH) constitutes a critical challenge in cardiopulmonary medicine with a pathogenesis that is multifaceted and intricate. Ion channels, crucial determinants of cellular electrochemical gradient modulation, have emerged as significant participants in the pathophysiological progression of PH.

Release of ATP in the ventral medulla during hypoxia in rats: role in hypoxic ventilatory response [PDF]
P2X2 receptor subunits of the ATP-gated ion channels are expressed by physiologically identified respiratory neurons in the ventral respiratory column, implicating ATP in the control of respiratory activity.

P2 purinoceptors signaling in fibroblasts of rat subcutaneous tissue [PDF]
Mestrado em Biologia Molecular e CelularO tecido conjuntivo parece estar envolvido na génese de diversas condições patológicas. O aumento da rigidez do tecido conjuntivo, resultante da fibrose, pode constituir um factor importante no mecanismo patogénico

P2X1 and P2X5 subunits form the functional P2X receptor in mouse cortical astrocytes [PDF]
ATP plays an important role in signal transduction between neuronal and glial circuits and within glial networks. Here we describe currents activated by ATP in astrocytes acutely isolated from cortical brain slices by non-enzymatic mechanical ...

Role of inflammasomes and neuroinflammation in epilepsy
Summary Epilepsy is a brain disorder characterized by recurrent seizures, which are brief episodes of abnormal electrical activity in the brain and involuntary movement that can lead to physical injury and loss of consciousness. Seizures are canonically accompanied by increased inflammatory cytokine production that promotes neuroinflammation, brain ...

Changes in P2Y Purinergic Receptor Expression in the Ciliary Body in a Murine Model of Glaucoma [PDF]
Glaucoma is a neuropathology, often accompanied by an elevated intraocular pressure (IOP), which can lead to blindness. Since DBA/2J mice develop glaucoma, several studies of the physiopathology of glaucoma have been reported in this animal model.

Biotechnological Interventions for the Production of Subunit Vaccines Against Group A Rotavirus
ABSTRACT Group A rotavirus (RVA) is a major cause of severe gastroenteritis in infants and young children globally, despite the availability of live‐attenuated vaccines. Challenges such as limited efficacy in low‐income regions, safety concerns for immunocompromised individuals, and cold‐chain dependency necessitate alternative vaccine strategies ...

The absence of adenosine receptor A2B on myeloid cells in Adora2B923f/f‐LysMCre mice resulted in systemic changes in myeloid and lymphoid cell populations during pregnancy. There was an increased expression of IL‐6 and a reduction of MDSC and uNK cells. However, there were only marginal differences in pregnancy outcomes.
