Mitochondria are vital for energy production and rely on intricate nucleic acid structures to regulate gene expression. Using DNP‐ssNMR (dynamic nuclear polarization solid‐state NMR), we observed G‐quadruplex formation in intact mitochondria treated with berberine.

Nitrogen Substituted Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbon As Capable Interstellar Infrared Spectrum Source Considering Astronomical Chemical Evolution Step To Biological Organic Purine And Adenine [PDF]
In order to find out capable chemical evolution step from astronomically created organic in interstellar space to biological organic on the earth, infrared spectrum of nitrogen substituted carbon pentagon-hexagon coupled polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon was analyzed by the density functional theory.

The story of purinergic neurotransmission and regulation is intimately linked to studies of the somatosensory system. Burnstock's contributions to the discovery of ATP as a primary afferent neurotransmitter, as well as a signal of peripheral tissue damage that depolarised sensory neurons initiated a new period of pain research.

HDAC6 and USP9X Control Glutamine Metabolism by Stabilizing GS to Promote Glioblastoma Tumorigenesis
Glioblastoma (GBM) growth relies on glutamine synthetase (GS), which is stabilized by histone deacetylase 6 (HDAC6) and deubiquitinated by ubiquitin‐specific peptidase 9, X‐linked (USP9X). HDAC6 promotes GS deacetylation, while USP9X removes its K48‐linked polyubiquitination, enhancing GS stability.

Polyoxotungstates in Molecular Boxes of Purine Bases
Three new compounds, (GuaH)4[W10O32](H2O)4 (1), (ThbH)3(H3O)[(W10O32](H2O)7.5 (2) and (ThbH)2[W6O19](H2O)2 (3) (GuaH = guaninium, thbH = theobrominium) were synthesized in acidified acetonitrile solutions.

A Touch Enabled Hemodynamic and Metabolic Monitor
This work presents a touch‐based hybrid platform for simultaneous monitoring of vital signs and sweat metabolites. With a simple tri‐finger touch of 4–6 min, users can concurrently get to know their glucose, uric acid, cortisol levels from fingertip sweat, along with blood pressure and heart rate.

Shortage of Cellular ATP as a Cause of Diseases and Strategies to Enhance ATP
Germline mutations in cellular-energy associated genes have been shown to lead to various monogenic disorders. Notably, mitochondrial disorders often impact skeletal muscle, brain, liver, heart, and kidneys, which are the body’s top energy-consuming ...

Non-alignment comparison of human and high primate genomes [PDF]
Compositional spectra (CS) analysis based on k-mer scoring of DNA sequences was employed in this study for dot-plot comparison of human and primate genomes. The detection of extended conserved synteny regions was based on continuous fuzzy similarity rather than on chains of discrete anchors (genes or highly conserved noncoding elements). In addition to
