Remote Assessment of Ataxia Severity in SCA3 Across Multiple Centers and Time Points
Annals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.ABSTRACT Objective
Spinocerebellar ataxia type 3 (SCA3) is a genetically defined ataxia. The Scale for Assessment and Rating of Ataxia (SARA) is a clinician‐reported outcome that measures ataxia severity at a single time point. In its standard application, SARA fails to capture short‐term fluctuations, limiting its sensitivity in trials.Marcus Grobe‐Einsler, Vivian Maas, Arian Taheri Amin, Jennifer Faber, Tamara Schaprian, Katharina Hill, Matthis Synofzik, Lisa H. Annals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.ABSTRACT Objective
To delineate specific in vivo white matter pathology in neuronal intranuclear inclusion disease (NIID) using diffusion spectrum imaging (DSI) and define its clinical relevance. Methods
DSI was performed on 42 NIID patients and 38 matched controls.Kaiyan Jiang, Yixiu Pei, Xiaobao Hu, Ying Xiong, Fang Wang, Yanyan Yu, Min Zhu, Dandan Tan, Meihong Zhou, Daojun Hong, Fuqing Zhou +10 morewiley +1 more sourceValue of MRI Outcomes for Preventive and Early‐Stage Trials in Spinocerebellar Ataxias 1 and 3
Annals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.ABSTRACT Objective
To examine the value of MRI outcomes as endpoints for preventive and early‐stage trials of two polyglutamine spinocerebellar ataxias (SCAs). Methods
A cohort of 100 participants (23 SCA1, 63 SCA3, median Scale for the Assessment and Rating of Ataxia (SARA) score = 5, 42% preataxic, and 14 gene‐negative controls) was scanned at 3T up ...Thiago J. Annals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.ABSTRACT Background and Objectives
Multiple sclerosis (MS) exhibits racially disparate rates of disease progression. Black people with MS (B‐PwMS) experience a more severe disease course than non‐Hispanic White people with MS (NHW‐PwMS). Here we investigated structural and functional connectivity as well as structure–function decoupling in the ...Emilio Cipriano, Giacomo Boffa, Maria Petracca, Marta Ponzano, Nicole Graziano, Claire Wigley, Claire Riley, Jonathan Howard, Pietro Bontempi, Sylvia Klineova, Fred Lublin, Matilde Inglese +11 morewiley +1 more sourceReperfusion‐Dependent Outcomes After Endovascular Thrombectomy Stratified by NIHSS‐ASPECTS Clinical‐Core Mismatch
Annals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.ABSTRACT Objective
This analysis evaluates the effect of successful reperfusion on functional outcomes after MT, stratified by admission National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) and Alberta Stroke Program Early CT Score (ASPECTS) as surrogates for clinical‐core mismatch, using multicenter registry data.Felix Schlicht, Lukas Meyer, Gabriel Broocks, Matthias Bechstein, Christian Thaler, Christian Heitkamp, Laurens Winkelmeier, Vincent Geest, Alexander Heitkamp, Maximilian Jungnitz, Gregor Peter, Luca Meucci, Tobias Faizy, Jawed Nawabi, Caspar Brekenfeld, Fabian Flottmann, Maximilian Schell, Alexandros Hadjilaou, Uta Hanning, Götz Thomalla, Jens Fiehler, Susanne Gellißen, Helge C. Arthritis Care &Research, EarlyView. Objective
Ultrasound (US) has been proposed as a potential tool for assessing skin fibrosis in systemic sclerosis (SSc). However, a large‐scale comparison of US‐based assessment with histologic markers of skin fibrosis has not been reported. We evaluated US‐based skin assessments for their face validity (differentiation between involved SSc and healthy Ruhani Desai, Filemon Tan, Minghua Wu, Jeffery L. Arthritis Care &Research, EarlyView. Objective
Sjögren's disease is an autoimmune disorder that can impact multiple organ systems, including the peripheral nervous system (PNS). PNS manifestations, which can exist concurrently, include mononeuropathies, polyneuropathies, and autonomic nervous system neuropathies.Anahita Deboo, Robert Fox, Katherine M.
