Impact of Upper Gastrointestinal Involvement on Clinical Outcomes in Paediatric Inflammatory Bowel Disease

open access: yesActa Paediatrica, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Aim The aim of this study was to assess the clinical implications of upper gastrointestinal (UGI) involvement in paediatric inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). Methods This retrospective cohort study included children diagnosed with IBD between 2010 and 2023, who underwent a UGI endoscopic evaluation at diagnosis and were followed for at least ...

Meta‐Analysis: Prevalence of Non‐Helicobacter pylori, Non‐NSAID Peptic Ulcer Disease

open access: yesAlimentary Pharmacology &Therapeutics, EarlyView.
A meta‐analysis of 92 studies including 60,816 patients found that non‐H. pylori, non‐NSAID represent a non‐negligible but heterogeneous component of peptic ulcer disease. Among bleeding ulcers, this proportion increased over time, potentially reflecting evolving etiologic patterns beyond H. pylori infection and NSAID exposure.

Anatomy and Histology of the Midgut of Atopozelus opsimus (Heteroptera: Reduviidae)

open access: yesActa Zoologica, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Atopozelus opsimus Elkins, 1954 (Heteroptera: Reduviidae) preys on forest and agricultural pests but also feeds on extrafloral nectar; however, its alimentary canal is poorly understood. The aim was to describe the anatomy and histology of the A. opsimus midgut. The alimentary canal of female and male A.

Long non‐coding RNAs at the crossroads of inflammation, cancer and angiogenesis: Molecular mechanisms and their potential as therapeutic targets

open access: yesBritish Journal of Pharmacology, EarlyView.
Long non‐coding RNAs (lncRNAs), a broad class of non‐protein‐coding RNAs, are characterized as new regulators of gene expression at the epigenetic, transcriptional, and post‐transcriptional level. Thus, lncRNAs are involved in the regulation of physiological processes and the development of human diseases and cancer by modulating proinflammatory ...

Gastric Mucosal Molecular Alterations and Multimodal Field‐Based Risk Models for Gastric Cancer Development

open access: yesCancer Science, EarlyView.
DNA methylation in non‐neoplastic background gastric mucosa reflects cumulative inflammatory and exposure‐related field changes before cancer develops. Combining methylation with clinical, endoscopic, histological, and emerging multimodal information may refine calibrated gastric cancer risk prediction and support risk‐adapted personalized endoscopic ...

circMAN1A2 as an Isoform‐Resolved Circular RNA Hub in Cancer

open access: yesCancer Science, EarlyView.
circMAN1A2 as an isoform‐resolved circular RNA hub in cancer. circMAN1A2 is generated by back‐splicing of MAN1A2 pre‐mRNA, with alternative circularization producing multiple isoforms, including the predominant circMAN1A2(2–5). Its mechanistic interfaces include miRNA‐associated regulation, RBP binding/proteostasis control, BSJ‐mediated RNA–RNA pairing,
