Expanded Scorpionate and Siderophore‐Inspired Ligands: From Foundational Designs to Modern Applications

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Inorganic Chemistry, Volume 29, Issue 15, 20 May 2026.
The concept of scorpionate ligands has evolved significantly since the introduction of tris(pyrazolyl)borate. By integrating a biological supramolecular ligand scaffold with the classic scorpionate architecture, researchers have made notable strides in mimicking the active sites of nitrogenase and advancing homogeneous catalysis.

Phosphorescent Platinum(II) Complexes With Diazinedipyrrolide Pincer Ligands: Structure and Photophysical Properties

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Inorganic Chemistry, Volume 29, Issue 15, 20 May 2026.
A new family of phosphorescent Pt(II) complexes with pyrimidinedipyrrolide ligands, including a pyrazine analog, was designed and synthesized. Their emission properties can be finely tuned via ligand modification, revealing strong phosphorescence originating from intraligand charge transfer transitions.

Mild and Metal‐Free CH Arylation of Imidazoles via In Situ Diazotization in Water

open access: yesAdvanced Synthesis &Catalysis, Volume 368, Issue 10, 19 May 2026.
Imidazoles undergo direct C–H arylation through in situ generated diazonium salts in water, under ambient and catalyst‐free conditions. This operationally simple method avoids hazardous intermediates, tolerates sensitive functional groups, and preserves C–halogen bonds.

Development of a Cu‐Catalyzed Regioselective Hydrazidation of 1,2‐Diborylalkenes

open access: yesAdvanced Synthesis &Catalysis, Volume 368, Issue 10, 19 May 2026.
Alkene 1,2‐diboronate esters undergo a Cu‐catalyzed regioselective addition to azodicarboxylates to generate functionalized borylated hydrazides. An investigation of mono‐ versus di‐hydrazidation processes and the use of these products in synthesis are described.

Pyrazolyl–Pyridine Ruthenium Complexes: A New Metallic Line of Defense Against Acinetobacter baumannii

open access: yesChemBioChem, Volume 27, Issue 9, 14 May 2026.
Ruthenium(II) (Ru(II)) pyrazolyl–pyridine half‐sandwich complexes (C1–C6) were synthesized and structurally characterized as prospective metalloantibiotics. Screening through the Community for Open Antimicrobial Drug Discovery (CO‐ADD) revealed selective activity against Acinetobacter baumannii, with favorable cytotoxicity profiles. Biophysical studies
