Structure–activity analysis of imino‐pyrimidinone‐fused pyrrolidines aids the development of dual plasmepsin V and plasmepsin X inhibitors

open access: yesThe FEBS Journal, EarlyView.
Compounds were identified that inhibit the aspartic protease plasmepsin V from Plasmodium vivax. Further development of these compounds identified compounds, such as S‐WM48, that could inhibit both plasmepsin V and plasmepsin X but plasmepsin IX was not significantly inhibited.

Isoselenourea‐Catalyzed Enantioselective Pyrazolo‐Heterocycle Synthesis Enabled by Self‐Correcting Amide and Ester Acylation

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, Volume 137, Issue 19, May 5, 2025.
A highly enantioselective isoselenourea catalyzed route to fused pyrazolo‐pyridone and ‐pyranone heterocycles has been developed. Mechanistic and computational studies highlight the significance of an intermediate amide or ester product derived from 1,2‐addition that can be diverted to the desired pathway through isoselenourea acylation.

Cobalt (II) and Nickel (II) Complexes of Substituted (Pyrazolyl)amine Ligands: Structural Characterization and Ethylene Oligomerization Studies

open access: yesApplied Organometallic Chemistry, Volume 39, Issue 6, June 2025.
New mononcluear cobalt (II) and nickel (II) complexes anchored on the pyrazolylamine‐based ligands have been structurally characterized and, on activation with EtAlCl2 or MAO, form active catalysts in ethylene oligomerization reactions for afford mainly butenes and hexenes.
