Pyrilamine inhibits nicotine-induced catecholamine secretion
Neurochemistry International, 2014Function of nicotine, which induces activation of all parts of the body including our brain, has been receiving much attention for a long period of time and also been actively studied by researchers for its pharmacological actions in the central nervous system.

Novel potentiometric sensors for pyrilamine maleate
Journal of the Iranian Chemical Society, 2017The fabrication and electrochemical response characteristics of four novel potentiometric sensors for determination of pyrilamine maleate (PyraH) were described. The sensors include polymeric membrane electrodes (PME1, PME2) and carbon paste electrodes (CPE1, CPE2).

AbstractPyrilamine‐d6 (N‐[(4‐methoxyphenyl)methyl]‐N′, N′‐di[2H3]methyl‐N‐2‐pyridinyl‐1,2‐ethanediamine) was synthesised from N‐2‐[(4‐methoxyphenyl)methyl]‐aminopyridine and 2‐(N,N‐di[2H3]methylamino)ethyl chloride in 83% yield. The alkyl chloride was prepared in 37% overall yield in a three step reaction from toluene‐4‐sulphondi [2H3]methylamide.

Chronic Feeding Study of Pyrilamine in Fischer 344 Rats
Fundamental and Applied Toxicology, 1995The antihistamine, pyrilamine maleate, was fed for up to 2 years to groups of 57 Fischer 344 (F344) rats of each sex at dietary levels of 0, 300, 1500, or 3000 ppm (free base). Eight or nine of these rats per sex and dose group were killed at 65 weeks to analyze hematology and clinical chemistry in all groups and histopathology of control and high-dose

Identification of Pyrilamine Metabolites by Ammonia Chemical Ionization Mass Spectrometry
Journal of Analytical Toxicology, 1986The ammonia chemical ionization mass spectrometric analysis of pyrilamine, the N-oxide of pyrilamine, and related compounds is described. The use of ammonia as the reagent gas produced excellent [M + H]+ ions for these compounds. The suitability of this method for the analysis of two rat urinary metabolites of pyrilamine is demonstrated.

Subchronic Studies of Pyrilamine in Fischer 344 Rats
Journal of the American College of Toxicology, 1993This study was designed to determine the subchronic effects of the antihistamine, pyrilamine maleate, and to establish dose levels for a 2-year chronic study. Six male and six female F344 rats received dietary pyrilamine concentrations of 0, 392, 783, 1563, 3122, or 6276 ppm (as the free base) for 14 days.

Pyrilamine-Induced Prolonged QT Interval in Adolescent With Drug Overdose
Pediatric Emergency Care, 2011The widespread availability of antihistamines in many over-the-counter preparations can lead to significant hazard to the public because of their possible link to potential ventricular arrhythmias secondary to prolongation of QT interval. The effect can be further compounded by the use of other commonly used medications such as macrolides, antifungal ...

Simultaneous Spectrophotometric Determination of Pyrilamine Maleate and Quinine
Bulletin (Society for Applied Spectroscopy), 1951The inclusion of the recently developed antihistamines in cold tablets has led to the interesting problem of quantitatively estimating constituents which have very similar chemical and physical properties. Formulations have appeared containing aspirin, caffeine, phenacetin, and quinine hydrobromide in combination with the well established ...

Tablets of Pyrilamine Resin Adsorbate with Aspirin and Vitamin C
Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences, 1962Marked changes in physical appearance manifested by dry formulations containing aspirin, an antihistamine, and vitamin C during an accelerated temperature stability study are discussed. The stabilization afforded by a resin adsorbate of a commonly used antihistamine, pyrilamine, is noted.
