Switching disease‐modifying therapies in patients with spinal muscular atrophy: A systematic review on effectiveness outcomes

open access: yesBritish Journal of Clinical Pharmacology, EarlyView.
With multiple disease‐modifying therapies now available, treatment switching has become an important clinical consideration in the management of spinal muscular atrophy (SMA). While some switches are prompted by suboptimal clinical response, more commonly they are driven by treatment burden, convenience, or adverse events.

Evaluating the (comparative) safety profile of the novel oral polio vaccine type 2 using individual case safety reports in VigiBase

open access: yesBritish Journal of Clinical Pharmacology, EarlyView.
Aim Novel oral polio vaccine type 2 (nOPV2) was used under the WHO emergency use listing for circulating vaccine‐derived polio virus (cVDPV) outbreaks from 2021 to 2023. We assessed nOPV2 adverse events following immunization (AEFIs) and compared its safety profile to other vaccines using VigiBase.

THE EFFECT OF INTERMITTENT ELECTRIC ACUPUNCTURE ON THE DISCHARGE RATE OF HEAT-SENSITIVE NEURONS OF PREOPTIC-ANTERIOR HYPOTHALAMUS IN THE PYROGEN TREATED RABBIT

open access: yes针刺研究, 1988
In present study we observed the effect of intermittent electric acupuncture on the discharge rate of heatsensitive neurons of preoptic-anterior hypothalamus (PO-AH)in the pyrogen treated rabbit. Twenty-one rabbits, weight between 1.8-

Response of Rabbits to Pyrogen in a Helox Environment

open access: yes, 1980
1.|The effectiveness of a gas environment consisting of 80% helium and 20% oxygen (Helox) in reducing a rabbit\u27s fever due to an i.v. injection of endotoxin was found to be dependent on the amount of pyrogen injected.

Infusion rate adjustment in enzyme replacement therapy with pabinafusp alfa for mucopolysaccharidosis II

open access: yesBritish Journal of Clinical Pharmacology, EarlyView.
Abstract Aims Enzyme replacement therapy (ERT) for mucopolysaccharidosis II (MPS II) requires long‐term, weekly intravenous infusions often lasting over 3 h each time, which can burden paediatric patients and caregivers and negatively affect their quality of life and treatment compliance.

Increased interval between seizure clusters across time in pediatric patients treated with the immediate‐use seizure medication diazepam nasal spray

open access: yesEpilepsia, EarlyView.
Abstract Objective Seizure clusters, intermittent increases in seizure activity that differ from a patient's usual seizure pattern, may occur despite treatment with a daily anti‐seizure medication. Benzodiazepine‐containing immediate‐use seizure medications (ISMs; also called rescue therapies) are the cornerstone of treatment for seizure clusters ...

Qualification of Magnesium/Teflon/Viton Pyrotechnic Composition Used in Rocket Motors Ignition System

open access: yesJournal of Aerospace Technology and Management, 2016
The application of fluoropolymers in high-energy-release pyrotechnic compositions is common in the space and defense areas. Pyrotechnic compositions of magnesium/Teflon/Viton are widely used in military flares and pyrogen igniters for igniting the solid ...

Immunoadjuvants enhance the febrile responses of rats to endogenous pyrogen

open access: yes, 1989
The febrile responses of male Sprague-Dawley rats to a semipurified endogenous pyrogen produced from human monocytes were characterized by establishing fever dose-response curves.
