A Comprehensive Review of Theaflavins: Physiological Activities, Synthesis Techniques, and Future Challenges

open access: yesFood Science &Nutrition, Volume 13, Issue 8, August 2025.
Theaflavins demonstrate significant pharmacological effects on various chronic diseases, while low availability and stability. In vitro synthesis methods, such as enzymatic oxidation and nonenzymatic synthesis, can significantly enhance the production of theaflavins, but industrialization still faces some challenges.

First Report of Pyrus pyrifolia Cryptic Virus Infecting Pear in Korea

open access: yesPlant Disease, 2020
Pyrus pyrifolia cryptic virus (PpCV), a new member of the genus Deltapartitivirus with three double-stranded (ds) RNA molecules (dsRNA1, 2, and 3) in the family Partitiviridae, was recently identified from pear (Pyrus pyrifolia) in Japan (Osaki et al. 2017).

Mitochondrial candidate gene, orf206, for cytoplasmic male sterility in Pear (Pyrus pyrifolia)

open access: yesMolecular Breeding
Cytoplasmic male sterility (CMS) caused by mitochondrial genome alterations in flowering plants plays a crucial role in hybrid breeding systems. In pear (Pyrus spp.), pollenless phenotypes have been consistently observed in progeny. However, the genetic basis and inheritance mechanisms of male sterility in pears remain poorly understood. To investigate
