The theory of early nonlinear stage of m=1 instability with locally flattened q-profile

open access: yesMatter and Radiation at Extremes, 2018
In this paper, we analyze the modification of fast particles on the nonlinear radial displacement of m = 1 internal kink mode with a shoulder-like equilibrium current theoretically.

Particulate trimethylamine in the summertime Canadian high Arctic lower troposphere [PDF]

open access: yesAtmospheric Chemistry and Physics, 2017
Size-resolved and vertical profile measurements of single particle chemical composition (sampling altitude range 50–3000 m) were conducted in July 2014 in the Canadian high Arctic during an aircraft-based measurement campaign (NETCARE 2014).

The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

Running bumps from stealth bosons

open access: yesEuropean Physical Journal C: Particles and Fields, 2018
For the ‘stealth bosons’ S, light boosted particles with a decay $$S \rightarrow A A \rightarrow q \bar{q} q \bar{q}$$ S→AA→qq¯qq¯ into four quarks and reconstructed as a single fat jet, the groomed jet mass has a strong correlation with groomed jet ...

Single-particle Green's functions of the Calogero-Sutherland model at couplings \lambda = 1/2, 1, and 2

open access: yes, 1995
At coupling strengths lambda = 1/2, 1, or 2, the Calogero-Sutherland model (CSM) is related to Brownian motion in a Wigner-Dyson random matrix ensemble with orthogonal, unitary, or symplectic symmetry.

Molecular characterisation of human penile carcinoma and generation of paired epithelial primary cell lines

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Generation of two normal and tumour (cancerous) paired human cell lines using an established tissue culture technique and their characterisation is described. Cell lines were characterised at cellular, protein, chromosome and gene expression levels and for HPV status.

Particle acceleration near a rotating charged black hole in 4D Einstein-Gauss-Bonnet gravity

open access: yesNuclear Physics B
We investigate the horizon structure and ergosphere in a charged rotating black hole within 4D Einstein-Gauss-Bonnet gravity, which introduces additional parameters (Q) because of the charge and Gauss-Bonnet parameter (β), besides the mass (M) and ...

Dynamical surface structures in multi-particle-correlated surface growths

open access: yes, 2002
We investigate the scaling properties of the interface fluctuation width for the $Q$-mer and $Q$-particle-correlated deposition-evaporation models. These models are constrained with a global conservation law that the particle number at each height is ...

Monitoring of circulating tumor DNA allows early detection of disease relapse in patients with operable breast cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Monitoring circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) in patients with operable breast cancer can reveal disease relapse earlier than radiology in a subset of patients. The failure to detect ctDNA in some patients with recurrent disease suggests that ctDNA could serve as a supplement to other monitoring approaches.

Stealth multiboson signals

open access: yesEuropean Physical Journal C: Particles and Fields, 2017
We introduce the ‘stealth bosons’ S, light boosted particles with a decay $$S \rightarrow AA \rightarrow q \bar{q} q \bar{q}$$ S→AA→qq¯qq¯ into two daughter bosons A, which subsequently decay into four quarks that are reconstructed as a single fat jet ...
