Molecular genetic detection and differentiation of Xanthomonas oryzae pv. oryzicola, bacterial leaf streak agents of rice

open access: yesВавиловский журнал генетики и селекции, 2022
The genus Xanthomonas comprises phytopathogenic bacteria which infect about 400 host species, including a wide variety of economically important plants. Xanthomonas oryzae pv.

Transferrin receptor 1‐mediated iron uptake supports thermogenic activation in human cervical‐derived adipocytes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.

The kinetic requirements of extreme qPCR

open access: yesBiomolecular Detection and Quantification, 2019
The kinetic requirements of quantitative PCR were experimentally dissected into the stages of DNA denaturation, primer annealing, and polymerase extension. The temperature/time conditions for 2 stages were kept optimal, while the other was limited until the amplification efficiency decreased as measured by an increase in quantification cycle (Cq ...

An isoform of 14‐3‐3 protein regulates transbilayer lipid movement at the plasma membrane

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Loss of 14‐3‐3ζ in CHO cells confers resistance to exogenous phosphatidylserine (PS) and impairs endocytosis‐independent inward flip‐flop of fluorescent PS at the plasma membrane. RNAi‐mediated knockdown reproduces this defect, while no additive effect is seen in ATP11C‐deficient cells.

A study of the relationship between the Galectin-9 gene (LGALS9) in three types of cancer patients in Basrah, Iraq [PDF]

open access: yesRomanian Journal of Medical Practice
Background. One essential member of the galectin family, galactose lectin-9 (Gal-9) serves several functions as a multi-subtype lectin. According to the latest research, tumor interaction with Gal-9 is a separate component that affects how quickly tumors

Increasing the Sensitivity of Leishmania RNA Virus 2 (LRV2) Detection with a Modification in cDNA Synthesis

open access: yesTürkiye Parazitoloji Dergisi, 2022
Objective:Leishmania RNA virus was detected the first time in the New World Leishmania species. Recent studies were also showed the presence of Leishmania RNA virus 2 (LRV2) in Old Word Leishmania species including Turkish L. major and L.

Septin 9 PB domains coordinate centrosome positioning and microtubule acetylation to control epithelial polarity

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Septin 9 polybasic domains couple phosphoinositide‐rich membrane binding to centrosome positioning, Golgi organization, and microtubule acetylation to control epithelial polarity. Their loss disrupts this axis, causing centrosome mispositioning, Golgi fragmentation, reduced microtubule acetylation, and polarity inversion via upregulation of the ...

Detection of copy number variation of alpha amylase genes in domestic pigs (Sus scrofa domesticus) and wild boars (Sus scrofa)

open access: yesCzech Journal of Animal Science, 2021
Copy numbers of alpha amylase genes (AMY), which encode starch-digesting enzymes, are markedly increased in modern humans and domesticated dogs as an adaptive evolutionary mechanism in response to increased consumption of starch-rich foods acquired ...

Modulation of Homer1 EVH1 domain internal dynamics by putative autism‐associated mutations

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The putative autism‐associated M65I and S97L variants of the EVH1 domain of the postsynaptic scaffold protein Homer1 do not exhibit substantial changes in their overall structure or partner binding. Both of them, but especially the M65I variant, show altered internal dynamics relative to the wild‐type domain on the μs‐ms timescale, indicated by the ...
