Nonparametric Functional Mapping of Quantitative Trait Loci [PDF]
SummaryFunctional mapping is a useful tool for mapping quantitative trait loci (QTL) that control dynamic traits. It incorporates mathematical aspects of biological processes into the mixture model‐based likelihood setting for QTL mapping, thus increasing the power of QTL detection and the precision of parameter estimation.

Linkage disequilibrium interval mapping of quantitative trait loci
Background For many years gene mapping studies have been performed through linkage analyses based on pedigree data. Recently, linkage disequilibrium methods based on unrelated individuals have been advocated as powerful tools to refine estimates of gene ...

Genetic mapping of quantitative trait loci in crops
Dissecting the genetic architecture of complex traits is an ongoing challenge for geneticists. Two complementary approaches for genetic mapping, linkage mapping and association mapping have led to successful dissection of complex traits in many crop ...

CHROMOSOME LOCATION OF GENETIC FACTORS DETERMINIG PHYSIOLOGICAL AND BIOCHEMICAL PROCESSES ASSOCIATED WITH DROUGHT TOLERANCE IN WHEAT TRITICUM AESTIVUM L. [PDF]
Drought tolerance is characterized as the most recalcitrant trait to improve for its complexity and considered target for genomic-assisted improvement. A profitable genetic strategy lies in the discovery and exploitation of quantitative trait loci (QTL ...

Population differences in transcript-regulator expression quantitative trait loci.
Gene expression quantitative trait loci (eQTL) are useful for identifying single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) associated with diseases. At times, a genetic variant may be associated with a master regulator involved in the manifestation of a disease ...

Quantitative trait loci for physical activity traits in mice
The genomic locations and identities of the genes that regulate voluntary physical activity are presently unknown. The purpose of this study was to search for quantitative trait loci (QTL) that are linked with daily mouse running wheel distance, duration, and speed of exercise. F2animals ( n = 310) derived from high active C57L/J and low active C3H/HeJ

Quantitative trait loci mapping of panicle traits in rice.
In this study 90 individuals of recombinant inbred lines (RILs) were developed by crossing subspecies of japonica rice cultivar, 'Nagdong' and an indica type cultivar, 'Cheongcheong'. These individuals were used to identify the quantitative trait loci of panicle traits using SSR markers.
