The Nrf2/HO‐1 pathway participates in the antiapoptotic and anti‐inflammatory effects of platelet‐rich plasma in the treatment of osteoarthritis

open access: yesImmunity, Inflammation and Disease, Volume 12, Issue 6, June 2024.
Study results identified a new mechanism, that is the role of Nrf2/HO‐1, underlying the protective role of platelet‐rich plasma in cartilage tissue damage in an ACLT‐induced animal model and IL‐1β‐treated chondrocytes. Meanwhile, our data provide valuable recommendations for the development of promising antiarthritic agents that act on Nrf2.

Bruceine E, a natural quassinoid from Brucea javanica, inhibits PARthanatos via targeting PARP1 in ischemic stroke

open access: yesFrontiers in Pharmacology
Ischemic stroke currently lacks evidence-based neuroprotective agents, primarily due to the challenge of timely intervention, which often occurs after the onset of irreversible neuronal damage.

Nematocidal Activity of Quassinoids against a Species of Diplogastridae.

open access: yesBiological and Pharmaceutical Bulletin, 2000
The nematocidal activity of 38 quassinoids, C19 or C20 compounds isolated from Simaroubaceae, was measured using a species of Diplogastridae (Nematoda) to develop lead parasiticides. Of the various quassinoids tested, samaderines B and E displayed the most potent nematocidal activity with a minimum lethal concentration (MLC) of 2.0 x 10(-5) M.
