Revisiting In-Gas Transformations of Quinate Conjugates Through the LC-qTOF-MS and Molecular Networking Topology. [PDF]
ABSTRACT Rationale The emergence of computational metabolomics tools such as molecular networking and machine learning–based platforms like SIRIUS has significantly advanced MS‐based metabolomics studies. These tools enable rapid metabolite identification by deciphering complex fragmentation patterns and chemical transformations occurring during mass ...

Reducing the Sinapine Levels of Camelina sativa Seeds Through Targeted Genome Editing of REF1. [PDF]
ABSTRACT Sinapine (O‐sinapoyl choline) is the major phenolic metabolite typically found in the oil‐rich seeds of Brassicaceae such as Camelina sativa and Brassica napus. It imparts a bitter taste to the seeds as a defence mechanism against herbivores, but it also renders them less palatable to livestock.

Quinate (1,3,4,5-tetrahydroxycyclohexanecarboxylate) is a compound synthesized in plants through a side-branch of the shikimate biosynthesis pathway, which is accumulated after glyphosate and acetolactate synthase inhibiting herbicides (ALS-inhibitors ...

Quinate oxidation inGluconobacter oxydansIFO3244: purification and characterization of quinoprotein quinate dehydrogenase [PDF]
Quinoprotein quinate dehydrogenase (QDH) is a membrane-bound enzyme containing pyrroloquinoline quinone (PQQ) as the prosthetic group. QDH in Gluconobacter oxydans IFO3244 was found to be inducible by quinate and it is not constitutively expressed in the absence of quinate. The purification of holo-form of QDH to nearly homogeneity was achieved.

The Metabolism of Quinate in Pea Roots (Purification and Partial Characterization of a Quinate Hydrolyase) [PDF]
A quinate (QA) hydrolyase was isolated from pea (Pisum sativum L.) roots. The enzyme converts QA into shikimate by elimination of water. The enzymatic reaction is independent of cofactors and divalent cations. The QA hydrolyase was purified about 1,600-fold to apparent electrophoretic homogeneity in three steps, including bovine serum albumin-affinity ...
