Bioremediation of quinclorac injury on tobacco by a rhizosphere bacterium

World Journal of Microbiology and Biotechnology, 2022
The presence of herbicides residues in soil represents a serious problem for agriculture. Quinclorac is a common herbicide applied in rice field, but its residue can cause abnormal growth in successive crop of tobacco in Southern China. Remediation by microorganisms is considered to be an environmentally friendly method to remove such pollutants injury.

Comparative Physiological Effects of Quinclorac and Auxins, and Light Involvement in Quinclorac-Induced Chlorosis in Corn Leaves

Pesticide Biochemistry and Physiology, 1997
Abstract The physiological effects of the herbicide quinclorac (3,7-dichloro-8-quinolinecarboxylic acid) in corn and the involvement of light on the herbicide-induced chlorosis were investigated. Quinclorac was highly inhibitory to corn growth. However, different from the tested auxins, quinclorac showed no promotion in an auxinic activity assay ...

Stress response of Burkholderia cepacia WZ1 exposed to quinclorac and the biodegradation of quinclorac

Soil Biology and Biochemistry, 2009
Abstract Quinclorac is an effective herbicide, but its residue is known to be a major environmental pollutant. Therefore, isolating quinclorac-degrading bacteria, exploring the mechanisms of degradation and analyzing the proteins introduced by the pollutant, would have scientific value and practical importance.

Field bindweed control with quinclorac in highbush blueberry

Weed Technology, 2022
AbstractField bindweed is a perennial vining weed with vigorous growth, and is commonly found in highbush blueberry fields of Oregon. It requires and integrated strategy using multiple applications of postemergence herbicides and hand weeding for adequate control.

The Mechanism of Quinclorac Selectivity in Grasses

Pesticide Biochemistry and Physiology, 2000
Abstract The mechanism of selectivity of the auxin herbicide quinclorac was studied in susceptible and resistant biotypes of Echinochloa hispidula and E. crus-galli ; in grass species of different susceptibility like Brachiaria platyphylla, Setaria viridis, E.

Hazelnut tolerance to basal-directed applications of clopyralid and quinclorac

Weed Technology, 2022
AbstractField studies were conducted to determine hazelnut tolerance to quinclorac and clopyralid and control efficacy of Canada thistle and field bindweed at three commercial orchards in western Oregon. Hazelnut cultivars evaluated included ‘Jefferson’, ‘Wepster’, and ‘McDonald’. Clopyralid at 278, 547, and 1,090 g ae ha−1, and quinclorac at 420, 840,

Multi-walled Carbon Nanotubes Remediate the Phytotoxicity of Quinclorac to Tomato

Bulletin of Environmental Contamination and Toxicology, 2022
In order to remediate the phytotoxicity of quinclorac to tomato by multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs), the adsorption of quinclorac to MWCNTs was monitored and the effect of MWCNTs on the phytotoxicity of quinclorac to tomato in soil were studied.

Quinclorac and Aminocyclopyrachlor Movement in Sandy Soils

Invasive Plant Science and Management, 2015
AbstractThe Sheyenne National Grassland (SNG) is a native tall grass and mixed grass prairie located in southeastern North Dakota. Approximately half of the SNG has been invaded by leafy spurge (Euphorbia esulaL.) and control methods have been limited.

Phytoremediation of quinclorac and tebuthiuron-polluted soil by green manure plants

International Journal of Phytoremediation, 2020
Quinclorac and tebuthiuron are residual herbicides that may remain in the soil longer than for the cropping season. The objective of this research was to evaluate the use of green manure plants to remediate soils treated with quinclorac and tebuthiuron.
