Application of Direct Crystallization for Racemic Compound Propranolol Hydrochloride
Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences, 2007The application of direct crystallization integrating with chromatography to the resolution of a racemic compound propranolol hydrochloride was studied and the crystallization progression was clearly illustrated in terms of the diagram of solubility and metastable zone widths with different enantiomeric compositions.

Use of Conglomerate Mixed Crystals to Deracemize a Stable Racemic‐Compound‐Forming System
International audienceAbstract Deracemization extended to racemic‐compound‐forming systems is demonstrated. We present here the first results of an alternative for the resolution of systems that exhibit a stable racemic compound but also a closely ...

Application of preferential crystallization to resolve racemic compounds in a hybrid process
AbstractThe application of preferential crystallization is at present limited to conglomerate forming systems, which cover only a minor part of chiral substances. In this paper, a hybrid process is proposed that extends the applicability of the preferential crystallization principle to the more common racemic compound forming systems.

Synthesis of Racemic Brevioxime and Related Model Compounds
The Journal of Organic Chemistry, 2000The synthesis, in racemic form, of the insect juvenile hormone inhibitor brevioxime (1) is described, as well as exploratory studies that led to the related model compounds 14 and 15a. The route to 1 involves Ag(+)-mediated coupling of the amine derived from 20 with the beta-keto thioester 32.

Partially Racemic Compounds as Brushtail Possum Urinary Metabolites
Australian Journal of Chemistry, 1992The hydroxycineole (2) and cineolic acid (3) obtained as urinary metabolites from the brushtail possum (Trichosurus vulpecula) after the ingestion of l,8-cineole (1), are partial racemates. The compounds have been examined by gas chromatographic analysis over chiral stationary phases, and by the synthesis of optically pure enantiomers.

Phenomenon of Optical Self-Purification of Chiral Non-Racemic Compounds
Journal of the American Chemical Society, 2007Owing to a faster rate of sublimation of the racemic form as compared to the optically pure form, optical purification occurred without any external action or special environmental condition. We believe that the phenomenon of optical self-purification reported here deserves further systematic study as possibly one of the mechanisms leading to the ...
