Enzymatic Radiofluorination: Current Status

Current Radiopharmaceuticalse, 2010
This review provides a overview of the use of biocatalysts in fluorine-18 chemistry that have emerged so far. The preparation of the following radiolabelled counpunds are discussed: [18F]5-FDA, [18F]5-FDI, [18F]5-FDR using different enzyme combinations. Nethertheless, the major emphasis is placed on the use of a key enzyme (ie the fluorinase) mediating

Enzymatically Catalyzed Radiofluorination of Biomolecules

2019
There has been significant and rapid growth in the development of amino acid-based molecular imaging agents (e.g., peptides, proteins, and antibody constructs) largely due to facile library preparation and high throughput screening. Positron-emitting fluorine-18 (half-life = 109.7 min) has a unique set of properties that match well with the ...

H18F + Sb2O3: a new selective radiofluorinating agent

Journal of the Chemical Society, Chemical Communications, 1986
A simple route is described to introduce fluorine-18 into a trihalogenomethyl group in 20–50% yield, using a new selective fluorinating agent (H18F + Sb2O3).

The Current Role of Microfluidics in Radiofluorination Chemistry

Molecular Imaging and Biology, 2019
The current utilization of positron emission tomography (PET) imaging is limited due to the high costs associated with production facility start-up and operations; subsequently, there has been a movement towards microfluidic synthesis of radiolabeled imaging pharmaceuticals (tracers).

Radiofluorinated Carbohydrates for Positron Emission Tomography

Current Topics in Medicinal Chemistry, 2013
2-Deoxy-2-[(18)F]fluoro-D-glucose (2-(18)FDG) has represented radiofluorinated carbohydrates as the most successful tracer for positron emission tomography (PET). 2-(18)FDG uptake depends on glucose metabolism, which is related to a disease progression.

Homogeneous Nucleophilic Radiofluorination and Fluorination with Phosphazene Hydrofluorides

Chemistry – A European Journal, 2011
AbstractA series of phosphazenium hydrofluorides, P1tBu⋅[18/19F]HF, P1tOct⋅[18/19F]HF, P2Et⋅[18/19F]HF, and P4tBu⋅[18/19F]HF, was synthesized. The radioactive phosphazenium [18F]hydrofluorides were obtained by the one‐step formation and trapping of gaseous [18F]HF with the respective phosphazene bases.

Single-step radiofluorination of peptides using continuous flow microreactor

Organic & Biomolecular Chemistry, 2012
18F radiolabelling of peptides bearing two different prosthetic groups was successfully conducted in a continuous flow microfluidic device for the first time. Radiochemical yields were dependent on precursor concentration, reaction temperature and flow rate. The choice of leaving group had a dramatic influence on the reaction outcome.

Radiofluorinated Enzyme Probes of Dopaminergic Function

1995
Radiofluorinated analogs of enzyme substrates offer a useful strategy for designing radiotracers to probe or label specific enzymes and their function (1). They are being used to investigate the dopaminergic system in vivo to obtain information about the structural requirements associated with neurotransmitter enzyme function as well as critical ...
