Salivary and plasmatic oxytocin are not reliable trait markers of the physiology of the oxytocin system in humans

open access: yeseLife, 2020
Single measurements of salivary and plasmatic oxytocin are used as indicators of the physiology of the oxytocin system. However, questions remain about whether they are sufficiently stable to provide valid trait markers of the physiology of the oxytocin ...

Triiodothyronine Radioimmunoassay [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Clinical Investigation, 1972
Highly specific antisera to triiodothyronine (T(3)) were prepared by immunization of rabbits with T(3)-bovine serum albumin conjugates. Antisera with T(3) binding capacity of up to 600 ng/ml were obtained. The ability of various thyronine derivatives to inhibit the binding of T(3-) (125)I to anti-T(3) serum was found to vary considerably. l-T(3), d-T(3)

Hair Testosterone and Cortisol Concentrations in Pre- and Post-Rut Roe Deer Bucks: Correlations with Blood Levels and Testicular Morphometric Parameters

open access: yesAnimals, 2018
The roe deer is a seasonally breeding species with a reproductive cycle regulated by endogenous rhythms and photoperiod-sensitivity. Sexually mature bucks show hormonal and testicular activation during the reproductive season, with a peak in the rut ...

Nomogram model of serum thymidine kinase 1 combined with ultrasonography for prediction of central lymph node metastasis risk in patients with papillary thyroid carcinoma pre-surgery

open access: yesFrontiers in Endocrinology
ObjectiveThe aim of this study was to develop a nomogram, using serum thymidine kinase 1 protein (STK1p) combined with ultrasonography parameters, to early predict central lymph node metastasis (CLNM) in patients with papillary thyroid carcinoma (PTC ...

RADIOIMMUNOASSAY FOR DETECTION OF ANTI-RINDERPEST ANTIBODIES IN CATTLES

open access: yesThe Iraqi Journal of Veterinary Medicine, 2022
Liquid Phase Radioimmunoassay (RIA) was developed to detect and measure anti-rinderpest immunoglobulins in field animals sera, within two hours. Rinderpest virus adapted on Vero cell line culture and antigen purified by treatment with Triton-Gentron 13 ...

History of Newborn Screening for Cystic Fibrosis—The Early Years

open access: yesInternational Journal of Neonatal Screening, 2020
This review summarises the trajectory of neonatal screening strategies for the detection of cystic fibrosis (CF) using the measurement of Immunoreactive Trypsin (IRT) in dried blood spots (DBS) from 1979 until the beginning of the 21st century when ...

Phytochrome Radioimmunoassay [PDF]

open access: yesPlant Physiology, 1979
A phytochrome radioimmunoassay with a detection limit of about 2 nanograms has been developed. The radioimmunoassay does not suffer from the potential drawbacks of the commonly used spectral assay and requires less than 1 microliter of crude extract from dark-grown plants for quantitation of phytochrome.

Impact of the transition from radioimmunoassay (RIA) to chemiluminescent enzyme immunoassay (CLEIA) for the measurement of plasma aldosterone concentration (PAC) on the diagnosis of primary aldosteronism (PA) via retrospective analyses in Okinawa, Japan

open access: yesEndocrine Journal
In Japan, the traditional method for measuring plasma aldosterone concentration (PAC) was radioimmunoassay (RIA), which had several challenges, including poor traceability of certified reference materials and reduced detection sensitivity at low ...
