Development of a Novel 18F‐Labeled Radioligand for Imaging Translocator Protein With Positron Emission Tomography

open access: yesiRADIOLOGY, EarlyView.
Translocator protein 18 kDa (TSPO) is a well‐established biomarker of neuroinflammation and is implicated in the pathophysiology of various neurodegenerative diseases. This study presents [18F]TSPO‐1118 ([18F]3) as a promising positron emission tomography (PET) radioligand for imaging TSPO with high affinity, robust brain uptake, and specificity in ...

A Modified Balanced Steady State Free Precession Sequence for Overhauser Magnetic Resonance Imaging

open access: yesMagnetic Resonance in Medicine, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Purpose Low‐ and ultralow‐field magnetic resonance imaging (ULF MRI) have inherently low signal‐to‐noise ratio (SNR) by design. Overhauser dynamic nuclear polarization (ODNP) stands out as an effective solution for continuous signal enhancement.

Radioiodination of Two Carborane‐Based Dual Cyclooxygenase‐2/5‐Lipoxygenase Inhibitors and Their In Vitro and In Vivo Evaluation

open access: yesChemBioChem, Volume 27, Issue 7, 14 April 2026.
Two dicarbadodecaborane(12)‐based dual cyclooxygenase‐2/5‐lipoxygenase (COX‐2/5‐LO) inhibitors were 123I‐labeled. Refinement of labeling and formulation conditions and extensive in vitro characterization are presented. Cell uptake studies in COX‐2‐ and 5‐LO‐overexpressing cell lines showed COX‐2‐independent and partly 5‐LO‐dependent uptake.

Optimized, automated and cGMP-compliant synthesis of the HER2 targeting [68Ga]Ga-ABY-025 tracer

open access: yesEJNMMI Radiopharmacy and Chemistry, 2023
Background The Affibody molecule, ABY-025, has demonstrated utility to detect human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2) in vivo, either radiolabelled with indium-111 (111In) or gallium-68 (68Ga).

High‐resolution deuterium metabolic imaging of the human brain at 9.4 T using phase‐cycled balanced SSFP spectral–spatial acquisitions

open access: yesMagnetic Resonance in Medicine, Volume 95, Issue 3, Page 1304-1322, March 2026.
Abstract Purpose The aim was to improve the sensitivity and robustness against B0 inhomogeneities of deuterium metabolic imaging (DMI) using phase‐cycled balanced SSFP (bSSFP) methods at 9.4 T. Methods We investigated two variants of phase‐cycled bSSFP acquisitions, namely uniformly weighted multi‐echo and acquisition‐weighted chemical shift imaging ...

Integrating Nuclear Medicine Services Into Health Care Systems in Low‐ and Middle‐Income Countries: A Review of Challenges and Innovations

open access: yesiRADIOLOGY, Volume 4, Issue 1, Page 3-12, February 2026.
Nuclear medicine is capable of solving noncommunicable diseases in LMICs but poses its own challenges. Research and investments are still needed. For nuclear medicine to answer the dynamics of noncommunicable diseases in the LMICs, it would have to overcome the high costs and regulations involved in this practice.

Astatine‐211—Towards In Vivo Stable Astatine‐211 Labeled Radiopharmaceuticals and Their (Pre)Clinical Applications

open access: yesMedicinal Research Reviews, Volume 46, Issue 1, Page 203-237, January 2026.
ABSTRACT Targeted radioligand therapy has emerged as a promising treatment option for eradicating advanced cancer forms. α‐Emitters are considered particularly promising as they can obliterate (micro)‐metastases. The α‐emitter astatine‐211 (211At) has experienced increased interest due to its favorable decay properties.
