Targeting Oncogenic BRAF: Past, Present, and Future. [PDF]
Identifying recurrent somatic genetic alterations of, and dependency on, the kinase BRAF has enabled a "precision medicine" paradigm to diagnose and treat BRAF-driven tumors.

AB0140 The role of raf kinase inhibitory protein in rheumatoid arthritis [PDF]
Background Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is an autoimmune inflammatory disease of the joints and is characterised by immune cell infiltration, synovial hyperplasia, and destruction of cartilage and underlying bone 1 . Raf kinase inhibitory protein (RKIP), an endogenous inhibitor of the extracellular signal-regulated kinase (ERK) pathway, has been ...

GRK2 Constitutively Governs Peripheral Delta Opioid Receptor Activity
Opioids remain the standard for analgesic care; however, adverse effects of systemic treatments contraindicate long-term administration. While most clinical opioids target mu opioid receptors (MOR), those that target the delta class (DOR) also ...

RAGE Signaling in Skeletal Biology [PDF]
PURPOSE OF REVIEW: The receptor for advanced glycation end products (RAGE) and several of its ligands have been implicated in the onset and progression of pathologies associated with aging, chronic inflammation, and cellular stress. In particular, the

A new GTF2I-BRAF fusion mediating MAPK pathway activation in pilocytic astrocytoma. [PDF]
Pilocytic astrocytoma (PA) is the most common pediatric brain tumor. A recurrent feature of PA is deregulation of the mitogen activated protein kinase (MAPK) pathway most often through KIAA1549-BRAF fusion, but also by other BRAF- or RAF1-gene fusions ...

Molecular characterization of autophagic and apoptotic signaling induced by sorafenib in liver cancer cells [PDF]
Sorafenib is the unique accepted molecular targeted drug for the treatment of patients in advanced stage of hepatocellular carcinoma. The current study evaluated cell signaling regulation of endoplasmic reticulum (ER) stress, c-Jun-N-terminal kinase (JNK)

ERRFI1, a neural crest (NC)‐associated gene, was upregulated in melanoma and negatively correlated with the expression of melanocytic differentiation markers and the susceptibility of melanoma cells toward BRAF inhibitors (BRAFi). Knocking down ERRFI1 significantly increased the sensitivity of melanoma cells to BRAFi.

Examining the role of insulin in the regulation of cardiovascular health [PDF]
A substantial body of evidence has reported that insulin has direct actions on the cardiovascular system independent of its systemic effects on plasma glucose or lipids.
