Exploring Taphrina deformans, the Springtime Scourge of Peach

open access: yesMolecular Plant Pathology, Volume 27, Issue 6, June 2026.
This review integrates current knowledge on host–pathogen interactions, epidemiological processes, resistance mechanisms and peach‐resistant varieties, while critically identifying key knowledge gaps. It provides the first comprehensive, integrative description of the Taphrina deformans life cycle in relation to the annual developmental cycle of the ...

A Conserved Magnaporthe oryzae Effector Counteracts the Rice Ubiquitin‐Proteasome System by Disrupting the E2 Function to Suppress Immunity

open access: yesPlant Biotechnology Journal, Volume 24, Issue 6, Page 4302-4316, June 2026.
ABSTRACT Pathogens commonly secrete effectors into host cells to facilitate invasion. In the host ubiquitin‐proteasome system (UPS), E3 ubiquitin ligases often target pathogen effectors for degradation, thereby enhancing immune responses. In turn, pathogen effectors frequently disrupt E3 ligase function to promote virulence. However, it remains largely

Extracellular stressors change BBSome expression of benign mesothelial and primary pleural mesothelioma cells and affect cell adhesion and migration

open access: yesPhysiological Reports, Volume 14, Issue 12, June 2026.
Abstract Pleural mesothelial cells have a primary cilium (PC), a solitary sensory organelle facing the extracellular environment. The BBSome is critical for the PC function and comprises several BBS proteins. Extracellular stimuli, like the ones encountered during a pleural effusion (osmotic, inflammatory, and oxidative stress‐related signals) could ...

The Identification of a Strain for the Biological Purification of Soy Molasses to Produce Functional Soy Oligosaccharides and Optimize Purification Conditions

open access: yesFoods
Soy molasses is rich in oligosaccharides like sucrose, stachyose, and raffinose, with stachyose and raffinose being functional oligosaccharides. Harnessing soy molasses for the production of functional soy oligosaccharides (FSO) can significantly elevate

Isolation and Hydrolysis of Raffinose Monopalmitate

open access: yesNippon kagaku zassi, 1966
