RIKEN Accelerator-driven compact Neutron systems, RANS project -RANS, RANS-II, III, RANS-μ-
Journal of Neutron Research, 2021RIKEN Accelerator-driven compact neutron source, RANS, has been operational since 2013. There are two major goals of RANS research and development. One is to establish a new compact low energy neutron non-destructive evaluation system on-site of floor-standing type for industrial use.

The Ran GTPase controls many cellular functions, including nucleocytoplasmic trafficking, spindle assembly, nuclear assembly and cell-cycle progression. Considerable evidence suggests that diffusible Ran-GTP near mitotic chromatin facilitates the release of critical factors from nuclear transport receptors, thereby promoting organization of mitotic ...

The sale and repurchase (repo) market played a central role in the recent financial crisis. From the second quarter of 2007 to the first quarter of 2009, net repo financing provided to US banks and broker-dealers fell by about $900 billion--more than half of its pre-crisis total.

Ran Regulation by Ran GEF and Ran GAP
2001The Ras-related GTPase Ran was first isolated as a complex with the chromatin-associated protein RCC1 (Bischoff and Ponstingl, 1991a), which turned out to be its guanine nucleotide exchange factor (GEF; Bischoff and Ponstingl, 1991b). Ran was mainly found in the nucleus and hence was designated the Ras-related nuclear protein.

Cognitive RAN: a self-learning wireless RAN
CSI Transactions on ICT, 2019There is a need to rethink the architecture of RAN from a statically configured RAN to a dynamically self-configuring RAN based on the availability of spectrum (licensed/unlicensed), adjacent channel interference, co-channel interference etc. This will ensure that with configurable wide-band RF and programmable SDR and a Big Data Cloud Compute Server ...

Feedback regulation of Ran gene expression by Ran protein
Gene, 2011Ran, an abundant GTPase that is highly conserved in eukaryotes from yeast to human, has been implicated in many aspects of nuclear structure and function. Recently it is revealed that the Ran GTPase can regulate the hemocytic phagocytosis of shrimp by interaction with myosin. However the regulation of Ran gene expression remains unknown. In this study,

Repeat-associated non-AUG (RAN) translation generates toxic repeat proteins from pathological repeat expansions found in certain neurodegenerative disorders, including amyotrophic lateral sclerosis and frontotemporal dementia. How to suppress RAN translation has so far been unknown.

5G RAN Architecture: C-RAN with NGFI
2016This chapter discusses Cloud Radio Access Networks (C-RAN), which has been viewed as one of the key RAN architectures for 5G networks. First, the basic concept and the initially defined architecture of C-RAN are recalled, including the major benefits in terms of acceleration of network deployment, cost reduction and facilitation of 5G technologies ...

RCC1 is a chromosomal protein that functions as a GEF of the nuclear G protein Ran, which GTPase activity is enhanced by RNA1 located in the cytoplasm. RCC1 has no preference for GTP or GDP-bound Ran, so that GTP-Ran formation in vivo is regulated by relative concentrations of GTP/GDP and regulatory proteins interacting with RCC1, Ran, and RNA1 ...

Ran, the Ras-related nuclear protein, is a regulatory GTP-Binding protein belonging to a large family of small GTPases. Many aspects of cell behavior are controlled by these proteins, including cell shape and cell movement, cell polarity, intracellular transport, and the decision for proliferation or differentiation.
