Bayesian Filtering With Random Finite Set Observations [PDF]

open access: yesIEEE Transactions on Signal Processing, 2008
This paper presents a novel and mathematically rigorous Bayes' recursion for tracking a target that generates multiple measurements with state dependent sensor field of view and clutter. Our Bayesian formulation is mathematically well-founded due to our use of a consistent likelihood function derived from random finite set theory.

“Statistics 103” for Multitarget Tracking

open access: yesSensors, 2019
The finite-set statistics (FISST) foundational approach to multitarget tracking and information fusion was introduced in the mid-1990s and extended in 2001.

Multiple Vessel Cooperative Localization Under Random Finite Set Framework With Unknown Birth Intensities

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2020
The key challenge for multiple vessel cooperative localization is considered as data association, in which state-of-the-art approaches adopt a divide-and-conquer strategy to acquire measurement-to-target association.

Random walks on generating sets for finite groups [PDF]

open access: yesThe Electronic Journal of Combinatorics, 1996
We analyze a certain random walk on the cartesian product $G^n$ of a finite group $G$ which is often used for generating random elements from $G$. In particular, we show that the mixing time of the walk is at most $c_r n^2 \log n$ where the constant $c_r$ depends only on the order $r$ of $G$.

A Note on Branching Random Walks on Finite Sets [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Applied Probability, 2005
We show that a branching random walk that is supercritical onis also supercritical, in a rather strong sense, when restricted to a large enough finite ball ofThis implies that the critical value of branching random walks on finite balls converges to the critical value of branching random walks onas the radius increases to infinity. Our main result also

Random Finite Set-Based Anomaly Detection for Safety Monitoring in Construction Sites

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2019
Low visibility hazard detection in construction sites is a crucial task for prevention of fatal accidents. Manual monitoring of construction workers to ensure they follow the safety rules (e.g., wear high-visibility vests) is a cumbersome task and ...

The Pairwise-Markov Bernoulli Filter

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2020
The Bernoulli filter is a general, Bayes-optimal solution for tracking a single disappearing and reappearing target, using a sensor whose observations are corrupted by missed detections and a general, known clutter process.

On infinite generativeness of quinary fractions in a class of probability transformers

open access: yesИзвестия высших учебных заведений. Поволжский регион: Физико-математические науки, 2021
Background. The object of the research is the expressibility of rational probabilities by transforming random variables with distributions from some initial set by Boolean functions.
