Objective assessment of a relative afferent pupillary defect by B-mode ultrasound. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2018
PURPOSE:To evaluate B-mode ultrasound as a novel method for objective and quantitative assessment of a relative afferent pupillary defect (RAPD) in a prospective case-control study.

RAPD Analysis of Acer [PDF]

open access: yesHortScience, 1995
DNA from 27 Acer species was used for RAPD analysis. A relatively high number of phylogenically informative polymorphisms were detected, as would be expected in intraspecific comparisons. Principle coordinates analysis was used to discern groupings among the species and a RAPD-based phylogeny was constructed.

Use of random amplified polymorphic DNA (RAPD) to detect DNA damage induced by Prangos ferulacea (Umbelliferae) essential oil against the Mediterranean flour moth Ephestia kuehniella Zeller (Lepidoptera: Pyralidae) [PDF]

open access: yesArchives of Biological Sciences, 2015
DNA damage detection in Ephestia kuehniella by RAPD-PCR Abstract - The random amplified polymorphic DNA (RAPD) assay is a useful method for detecting genotoxin-induced DNA damage.

Survival of thermophilic spore-forming bacteria in a 90+ year old milk powder from Ernest Shackelton's Cape Royds Hut in Antarctica [PDF]

open access: yes, 2000
Milk powder taken to Antarctica on Shackelton's British Antarctic Expedition in 1907 was produced in New Zealand by a roller drying process in the first factory in the world dedicated to this process. Thermophilic bacilli are the dominant contaminants of

Development of Random Amplified Polymorphism DNA Markers Linked to Powdery Mildew Resistance Gene in Melon

open access: yesIndonesian Journal of Biotechnology, 2011
A random amplified polymorphic DNA (RAPD) marker linked to powdery mildew resistance gene (Pm-I) in melon PI 371795 was reported. However, the RAPD marker has problem in scoring.

Emphasized-RAPD (e-RAPD): A Simple and Efficient Technique to Make RAPD Bands Clearer.

open access: yesBreeding Science, 2002
The random amplified polymorphic DNA (RAPD) technique has been used widely for purposes such as the construction of linkage maps, QTL analysis, evaluation of genetic diversity, and parentage tests. However, some minor bands of RAPD display a low reproducibility and low reliability.

Genetic Divergence Study in Grewia Optiva through Quantitative and Molecular Markers

open access: yesInternational Journal of Economic Plants, 2021
Diversity analysis amongst 10 different families of Grewia optiva was carried out by using RAPD (random amplified polymorphic DNA) and ISSR (inter simple sequence repeats) marker.

The reproducibility of RAPD profiles: Effects of PCR components on RAPD analysis of four centaurium species [PDF]

open access: yesArchives of Biological Sciences, 2012
Random amplified polymorphic DNA (RAPD) analysis is a simple and reliable method used to detect DNA polymorphism. Several factors can affect the amplification profiles, thereby causing false bands and non-reproducibility of the assay. In this study, we analyzed the effects of different concentrations of primer, magnesium chloride, template ...

Trypanosoma evansi: Genetic variability detected using amplified restriction fragment length polymorphism (AFLP) and random amplified polymorphic DNA (RAPD) analysis of Kenyan isolates [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
We compared two methods to generate polymorphic markers to investigate the population genetics of Trypanosoma evansi; random amplified polymorphic DNA (RAPD) and amplified restriction fragment length polymorphism (AFLP) analyses.
