A Bibliometric Analysis of Publications in Uremic Toxins From 1991 to 2024

open access: yesTherapeutic Apheresis and Dialysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Uremic toxins are a growing area of research in nephrology, with significant implications in the progression and treatment of chronic kidney disease (CKD) and the management of end‐stage kidney disease (ESKD). This bibliometric analysis aims to evaluate the global research trends, key contributors, and the impact of publications in ...

A Low-Memory Lanczos Method with Rational Krylov Compression for Matrix Functions [PDF]

open access: yes
In this work, we introduce a memory-efficient method for computing the action of a Hermitian matrix function on a vector. Our method consists of a rational Lanczos algorithm combined with a basis compression procedure based on rational Krylov subspaces ...

Continuity and Rational Functions

open access: yesCoRR, 2017
A word-to-word function is continuous for a class of languages V if its inverse maps V_languages to V. This notion provides a basis for an algebraic study of transducers, and was integral to the characterization of the sequential transducers computable in some circuit complexity classes.

Effectiveness of Resistance Intradialytic Exercise Compared to Aerobic Intradialytic Exercise for Patients With Chronic Kidney Disease: A Randomized Controlled Clinical Trial

open access: yesTherapeutic Apheresis and Dialysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Patients with chronic kidney disease undergoing hemodialysis commonly experience reduced physical function, fatigue, poor sleep quality, and impaired health‐related quality of life. Intradialytic exercise has been proposed as a non‐pharmacological strategy to improve these outcomes.

Inverses of rational functions [PDF]

open access: yes, 2023
We consider the numerical construction of inverses for a class of rational functions. We propose two inverse algorithms, which can be used to simultaneously identify every zero of a rational function or polynomial.

Interval and $\ell$-interval Rational Parking Functions [PDF]

open access: yesDiscrete Mathematics & Theoretical Computer Science
Interval parking functions are a generalization of parking functions in which cars have an interval preference for their parking. We generalize this definition to parking functions with $n$ cars and $m\geq n$ parking spots, which we call interval ...

Phosphatidylinositol 4‐kinase as a target of pathogens—friend or foe?

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This graphical summary illustrates the roles of phosphatidylinositol 4‐kinases (PI4Ks). PI4Ks regulate key cellular processes and can be hijacked by pathogens, such as viruses, bacteria and parasites, to support their intracellular replication. Their dual role as essential host enzymes and pathogen cofactors makes them promising drug targets.

On linear systems and τ functions associated with Lamé's equation and Painlevé's equation VI. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
Painleve's transcendental differential equation PVI may be expressed as the consistency condition for a pair of linear differential equations with 2 by 2 matrix coefficients with rational entries.

On a sequence of rational functions

open access: yesTheoretical Computer Science, 1989
Let \((R_ n)_{n\geq 2}\) be the sequence of rational functions defined on \([2,+\infty [\) by: \(R_ 2(x)=1\), \(R_{2n}(x)+R_{2n+1}(x)=x\) (n\(\geq 1)\) and \(R_{2n}(x)R_{2n-1}(x)=R_ n(x)\) (n\(\geq 2)\). This sequence was introduced in various contexts by \textit{D. Bessis} and \textit{P. Moussa} [Commun. Math. Phys. 88, 503-523 (1983; Zbl 0523.30019)],
