Plasma membranes contain dynamic nanoscale domains that organize lipids and receptors. Because viruses operate at similar scales, this architecture shapes early infection steps, including attachment, receptor engagement, and entry. Using influenza A virus and HIV‐1 as examples, we highlight how receptor nanoclusters, multivalent glycan interactions ...

Counting rational points on algebraic varieties
For any N ≥ 2, let Z ⊂ ℙN be a geometrically integral algebraic variety of degree d. This article is concerned with the number Nz(B) of ℚ-rational points on Z which have height at most B. For any ε > 0, we establish the estimate NZ(B) = O d,ε,N(Bdim Z+ε),

On the rational function field of real curves without real points
Let F be the field of rational functions of a real algebraic curve without real points. It is well-known that in F we can express -1 as a sum of two squares. We show that -1 is also a sum of four fourth powers, six sixth powers, and so on.

An unexpected alternative interaction site for ethyl viologen was identified in formate dehydrogenase 1 from Methylorubrum extorquens. Combined mutagenesis, kinetic analysis, and docking revealed that aromatic residues near an iron–sulfur cluster enable flavin mononucleotide‐independent electron transfer, offering a framework for engineering improved ...

Counting rational points on elliptic curves with a rational 2-torsion point [PDF]
Let E/\mathbb{Q} be an elliptic curve over the rational numbers. It is known, by the work of Bombieri and Zannier, that if E has full rational 2-torsion, the number

Structural insights and therapeutic targets in Acinetobacter baumannii capsule biosynthesis
Hypervirulent KL49 A. baumannii's capsular polysaccharide contains the nonulosonic acid 8‐epi‐Leg5,7Ac2, synthesized by epimerization via ElaA, ElaB, and ElaC. Crystal structures of ElaA, ElaB, and ElaC reveal their role in CMP‐Leg5,7Ac2 synthesis and regioselective C8 epimerization.

Curves with rational chord-length parametrization
It has been recently proved that rational quadratic circles in standard Bezier form are parameterized by chord-length. If we consider that standard circles coincide with the isoparametric curves in a system of bipolar coordinates, this property comes as ...

Aptamers are used both therapeutically and as targeting agents in cancer treatment. We developed an aptamer‐targeted PLGA–TRAIL nanosystem that exhibited superior therapeutic efficacy in NOD/SCID breast cancer models. This nanosystem represents a novel biotechnological drug candidate for suppressing resistance development in breast cancer.
