An Affine Model of a Riemann Surface Associated to a Schwarz–Christoffel Mapping
In this paper, we construct an affine model of a Riemann surface with a flat Riemannian metric associated to a Schwarz–Christoffel mapping of the upper half plane onto a rational triangle.

E2A selectively regulates TGF‐β–induced apoptosis in KRAS‐mutant non‐small cell lung cancer
Ability to induce apoptosis by TGF‐β is frequently lost in advanced lung adenocarcinoma despite intact TGF‐β signaling. We identify E2A as a mutant KRAS–dependent mediator of resistance to TGF‐β–induced apoptosis. TGF‐β induces E2A via SMAD3 in mutant KRAS cells, and E2A silencing restores apoptosis and enhances radiation response in cell lines ...

Rational Surfaces with Many Nodes [PDF]
We describe smooth rational projective algebraic surfaces over an algebraically closed field of characteristic different from 2 which contain $n \geq b_2-2$ disjoint smooth rational curves with self-intersection −2, where $b_2$ is the second Betti ...

Wormholes and surface defects in rational ensemble holography
We study wormhole contributions to the bulk path integral in holographic models which are dual to ensembles of rational free boson conformal field theories.

C1 rational quadratic trigonometric spline
A Bézier like C1 rational quadratic trigonometric polynomial spline is developed. It defines two shape parameters in each subinterval. The approximation and geometric properties are investigated. The curvature continuity is established.

Hijacking emergency granulopoiesis: Neutrophil ontogeny and reprogramming in cancer
Neutrophils are highly plastic innate immune cells; their functions in cancer extend beyond the tumour microenvironment. This Review summarises current understanding of neutrophil maturation and heterogeneity and highlights tumour‐induced granulopoiesis as a systemic programme that expands immature, immunosuppressive neutrophils via tumour‐derived ...

Zometool Rationalization of Freeform Surfaces [PDF]
An ever broader availability of freeform designs together with an increasing demand for product customization has lead to a rising interest in efficient physical realization of such designs, the trend toward personal fabrication. Not only large-scale architectural applications are (becoming increasingly) popular but also different consumer-level rapid ...

Modelling of microbial polyhydroxyalkanoate surface binding protein PhaP for rational mutagenesis
Summary Phasins are unusual amphiphilic proteins that bind to microbial polyhydroxyalkanoate (PHA) granules in nature and show great potential for various applications in biotechnology and medicine.

Interpreting the effects of DNA polymerase variants at the structural level
Using MAVISp and molecular dynamics simulations, we analyzed over 60 000 missense variants in POLE and POLD1 from ClinVar, COSMIC, cBioPortal, and saturation mutagenesis. Identified mechanistic indicators, including stability, binding, and long‐range, enable structural interpretation, providing ACMG‐like evidence for possible reclassification of VUS ...
