Reactive power regulation strategy for WTGs based on active disturbance rejection control

open access: yesFrontiers in Energy Research
With the large-scale interconnection of wind power generation, the voltage problem of the power system becomes more and more prominent. Compared with adding external reactive power compensation devices, it is more economical and responsive for fans to ...

Optimal reactive power control in a converter station during low-power operation of HVDC

open access: yesThe Journal of Engineering, 2019
When the high-voltage DC (HVDC) system is operated in low-power transmission, the overplus of reactive power provided by AC filters may still exist apart from satisfying the need of the converter station, restricted by the minimum number of filter banks.

CCDC80 suppresses high‐grade serous ovarian cancer migration via negative regulation of B7‐H3

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
PAX8 is a lineage‐specific master regulator of transcription in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSC) progression. We show for the first time that PAX8 facilitates proliferation and metastasis by repressing the cell autonomous tumor suppressor CCDC80 and inducing B7‐H3 expression.

Insights into a long life without cancer: The case of the bowhead whale

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Long‐lived, large‐bodied organisms have evolved powerful anticancer mechanisms that preserve cellular and tissue integrity across extended lifespans. A recent study by Firsanov et al. shows that greater genome stability is a key factor underlying the remarkable longevity and cancer resistance of one such species, the bowhead whale.

DNA methylation and expression of MAPRE3 affect overall survival of early‐stage non‐small cell lung cancer patients

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Both cg12821679MAPRE3 methylation and MAPRE3 expression are significantly associated with overall survival (OS) of non‐small cell lung cancer. Meanwhile, MAPRE3 expression significantly modified the effect of smoking cessation on OS. Smoking cessation benefits OS merely for patients with high MAPRE3 expression.

A Comparison Study of Reactive Power Control Strategies in Wind Farms with SVC and STATCOM

open access: yesInternational Journal of Electrical and Computer Engineering (IJECE), 2018
In the recent years, the integration of the wind farms into the electrical grids has increased rapidly. Especially, the wind power plants made up with doubly fed induction generators due to its many advatanges, such as being able to control its reactive ...

Targeting TNBC: core–shell polycationic polyurea dendrimers with inherent anticancer activity

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Core–shell polycationic PURE dendrimers were tested in TNBC‐derived tumor models. Both formulations selectively targeted TNBC and effectively reduced tumor volume. PUREG4‐OEI48 suppressed tumor growth without detectable toxicity, whereas PUREG4‐OCEI24, despite showing efficacy, induced hepatic toxicity.

Distributed control algorithm for optimal reactive power control in power grids

open access: yesInternational Journal of Electrical Power & Energy Systems, 2016
Abstract Reactive power generation has been commonly used for power loss minimization and voltage profile improvement in power systems. However, the opportunity cost of reactive power generation should be considered since it affects the frequency control capability of the generator to some degree.

KLK7 overexpression promotes an aggressive phenotype and facilitates peritoneal dissemination in colorectal cancer cells

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
KLK7, a tissue kallikrein‐related peptidase, is elevated in advanced colorectal cancer and associated with shorter survival. High KLK7 levels in ascites correlate with peritoneal metastasis. In mice, KLK7 overexpression increases metastasis. In vitro, KLK7 enhances cancer cell proliferation, migration, adhesion, and spheroid formation, driving ...
