Cytosolically synthesized chloroplast preproteins are translocated across the outer and inner envelope membranes through translocons called TOC and TIC, respectively. In green algae and plants, the TIC core is composed of essential membrane proteins, Tic12, Tic20, and Tic214.

Rapid screening of staphylokinase protein variants using an unpurified cell‐free expression system
An unpurified cell‐free protein synthesis (CFPS) platform enables rapid functional screening of staphylokinase variants. Direct plasminogen‐activation assays performed in microplate format provide real‐time activity readouts, allowing rapid identification and ranking of variants with improved or reduced fibrinolytic activity without protein ...

Systemic dysregulation of apolipoproteins in amyotrophic lateral sclerosis serum
Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is a fatal disease that damages motor neurons. This study found that people with ALS show significant changes in blood fats and the proteins that carry them. Several apolipoproteins were higher, lipid balances were altered, and normal protein–lipid relationships were disrupted.

On the Fairness of Centralised Decision-Making Strategies in multi-TSO Power Systems [PDF]
In this paper, we consider an interconnected power system, where the different Transmission System Operators (TSOs) have agreed to transferring some of their competences to a Centralised Control Center (CCC). In such a context, a recurrent difficulty for

Localized reactive power markets using the concept of voltage control areas
In this paper, we present the design of a localized competitive market for reactive power ancillary services at the level of individual voltage-control areas.

Dispatch of reactive power compensators in transmission grids
Art. 106126The phase-out of conventional power plants reduces the reactive power reserve from synchronous generators in transmission grids. Operational concepts need to be adapted to integrate reactive power compensators such as STATCOMs into voltage ...

REACTIVE POWER COMPENSATOR WITH SMOOTH CONTROL
Reactive power compensation devices are widely used: thyristor-control reactors (TCR) and thyristor-switched capacitors (TSC). The TCR disadvantages are discussed. The TSC disadvantages are: influence of higher harmonics on nonsinusoidal voltage power system, the inability to ensure the smooth regulation.

Activation of the mitochondrial protein OXR1 increases pSyn129 αSynuclein aggregation by lowering ATP levels and altering mitochondrial membrane potential, particularly in response to MSA‐derived fibrils. In contrast, ablation of the ER protein EMC4 enhances autophagic flux and lysosomal clearance, broadly reducing α‐synuclein aggregates.

Design of a Static Reactive Power Compensator Using Fuzzy Sliding Mode Control
[[abstract]]This paper demonstrates a fuzzy sliding mode control (FSMC) scheme for a static reactive power (VAR) compensator (SVC) to improve the damping of a synchronous generator.

Mass spectrometry based identification of AMP‐O‐Tris generated by Thermococcus onnurineus Cas10
Isolated Thermococcus onnurineus Cas10 generates the noncanonical ATP‐derived product AMP‐O‐Tris while in Tris‐containing buffer as identified via mass spectrometry, revealing relaxed nucleophile selectivity under isolated conditions. These findings suggest that multiprotein Csm complex assembly restricts Cas10 reactivity toward canonical cyclic ...
