Eye movement programming and reading accuracy

Quarterly Journal of Experimental Psychology, 2018
Eye movements were measured during the silent reading of sentences to extract several oculomotor measures. Rather than each measure being examined independently, oculomotor responses were grouped into two types, the assumption being that the grouping would project onto underlying constructs.

Electrocardiograms with pacemakers: accuracy of computer reading

Journal of Electrocardiology, 2007
We analyzed the accuracy with which a computer algorithm reads electrocardiograms (ECGs) with electronic pacemakers (PMs).Electrocardiograms were screened for the presence of electronic pacing spikes. Computer-derived interpretations were compared with cardiologists' readings.Computer-drawn interpretations required revision by cardiologists in 61.3% of

On the Accuracy of Short Read Mapping

2013
The development of high-throughput sequencing technologies has revolutionized the way we study genomes and gene regulation. In a single experiment, millions of reads are produced. To gain knowledge from these experiments the first thing to be done is finding the genomic origin of the reads, i.e., mapping the reads to a reference genome.

Accuracy of radiographic readings in the emergency department

The American Journal of Emergency Medicine, 2011
A review of radiology discrepancies of emergency department (ED) radiograph interpretations was undertaken to examine the types of error made by emergency physicians (EPs).An ED quality assurance database containing all radiology discrepancies between the EP and radiology from June 1996 to May 2005 was reviewed.

Effects of simultaneous auditory feedback on reading accuracy during reading development

Reading and Writing, 1991
Five groups of twelve right-handed male children from the second to the sixth grade with normal reading efficiency were tested under three conditions of simultaneous amplified auditory feedback, binaurally, to the left and to the right ear, on reading aboud two separate classes of words, nouns and nonwords.

ILLUMINANCE READINGS FROM THIRTEEN SMARTPHONES: MEASUREMENT ACCURACIES AND APPLICABILITY

CIE x050:2023 Proceedings of the 30th Session of the CIE, Ljubljana, Slovenia, September 15 – 23, 2023, Volume 1, 2023
Light fulfils numerous roles in human lives resulting in different lighting needs presented in standards and guidelines. For any lighting design, lighting measurements are crucial for evaluating the installed lighting system. Calibrated photometers are recommended for accurate measurements, although smartphones are sometimes used for indicative ...

THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN DIAL SIZE, READING DISTANCE AND READING ACCURACY

Ergonomics, 1958
The experiment reported suggests that the accuracy of reading a graduated scale is related to the angle subtended at the eye by the called space. There is a critical point representing about 98 per cent accuracy (for all intervals interpolated into five or less parts) below which there is a rapid fall off in accuracy and above which little improvement ...
