Systematic Evaluation of the Quality Benefits of Spatiotemporal Sample Reprojection in Real-Time Stereoscopic Path Tracing

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2020
Path tracing is a commonly used but computationally highly expensive stochastic ray tracing method for rendering photorealistic visual content. Combined with a real-time constraint, for example in stereoscopic virtual/augmented reality applications, it ...

Smoke and Shadows: Rendering and Light Interaction of Smoke in Real-Time Rendered Virtual Environments [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Realism in computer graphics depends upon digitally representing what we see in the world with careful attention to detail, which usually requires a high degree of complexity in modelling the scene.

Α PATTERN-BASED AUGMENTED REALITY APPLICATION FOR THE DISSEMINATION OF CULTURAL HERITAGE [PDF]

open access: yesISPRS Annals of the Photogrammetry, Remote Sensing and Spatial Information Sciences, 2021
Augmented Reality (AR) is more than an added value for Cultural Heritage (CH); it is vital for its sustainability, promotion and dissemination, increasing accessibility in CH even during difficult periods of time, like the Covid-19 pandemic.

Real-time 3D reconstruction from single-photon lidar data using plug-and-play point cloud denoisers

open access: yesNature Communications, 2019
The use of single-photon data has been limited by time-consuming reconstruction algorithms. Here, the authors combine statistical models and computational tools known from computer graphics and show real-time reconstruction of moving scenes.

Dynamic Molecular Modelling. The Case of Rearranging Polycyclic C8H9 Cations

open access: yesCHIMIA, 1984
The rearrangement of C8H9 polycyclic carbocations is represented by an animated graphic display using a calligraphic system. The chief feature is the interactive and three-dimensional visualization of the real-time evolution of the complex process.

Accurate and Practical Calibration of Multiple Pan-Tilt-Zoom Cameras for Live Broadcasts

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2020
We aim to realize novel services for live broadcasts, including visualizing the 3D position of a subject, using multiple pan-tilt-zoom (PTZ) cameras. For this purpose, a camera calibration technique with high accuracy over a wide pan-tilt-zoom range and ...

A Real Time Three-Dimensional Graphics Using Personal Computer

open access: yesJournal of Graphic Science of Japan, 1990
In this paper we imtroduce a new display method to from a real time three-dimensional graphics using functions of ‘sprite’ and ‘raster interruption’ for high-speed movement and high-speed transformation respectively. The display method is a quasi-display method, which substitute basic solid figures for any solid figure and display them by sprites.
