In this study, we examined the combination effects of L-DOPA and adenosine receptor antagonists on rotational behaviors in a hemi-Parkinsonian mouse model induced by unilateral 6-hydroxydopamine (6-OHDA) injection. The adenosine A2A antagonist SCH-58261,

G protein‐coupled receptors (GPCRs) play a crucial role in cell function by transducing signals from the extracellular environment to the inside of the cell. They mediate the effects of various stimuli, including hormones, neurotransmitters, ions, photons, food tastants and odorants, and are renowned drug targets.

Breast cancer is a complex disease significantly influenced by estrogen receptors (ERs) and the extracellular matrix (ECM), both of which are critical in shaping tumor behavior. ERα and ERβ modulate cancer progression and therapeutic response with their interactions intricately linked to ECM dynamics.

Involvement of adenosine A1 receptors in systemic inflammation and altered vascular reactivity in allergic mice [PDF]
Epidemiological studies have established that people who have lung diseases such as asthma and COPD are likely to develop adverse cardiovascular events. While the reason for this has not been elucidated, it is believed that inflammation could be the key ...

Harnessing nucleotide metabolism and immunity in cancer: a tumour microenvironment perspective
This review explores how changes in nucleotide metabolism affect the tumour microenvironment and immune responses in cancer. Here, we discuss the dual role of nucleotide metabolism in promoting cancer cell growth and shaping immune suppression. We highlight how therapies targeting nucleotide pathways can enhance immunotherapy efficacy, offering new ...

Design and synthesis of new fluorescent probes for A2B adenosine receptor. [PDF]
Adenosine is an endogenous purine nucleoside that plays a key role in numerous important physiological functions through interactions with specific cell-surface G-protein-coupled receptors (GPCRs), which are classified into four subtypes, namely A1, A2A,

Decidualization is the process by which human endometrial stromal cells undergo morphological and functional changes to prepare the uterus for embryo implantation and support pregnancy. Our study identifies the phosphatidic acid‐Src‐FAK‐RhoA/ROCK signaling pathway as a critical regulator of the cytoskeletal alterations required for this transformation.

Derivatives of MOPS: promising scaffolds for SARS coronaviruses Macro domain‐targeted inhibition
The SARS‐CoV/CoV‐2 genome encodes non‐structural protein 3, which contains a ‘Macro domain’. This protein domain exhibits antagonistic activity against interferon signaling, which disrupts the host innate immune response and can thus mediate viral escape, highlighting its therapeutic potential.

In healthy neurons, Protein kinase A (PKA) forms a tetrameric holoenzyme enabling precise allosteric regulation. We characterized a novel neurodegenerative disease, neuronal loss, and parkinsonism driven by PRKAR1B mutation (NLPD‐PKA), demonstrating disrupted holoenzyme assembly, reduced cooperativity, and increased catalytic subunit nuclear ...
