SMAD4 depletion contributes to endocrine resistance by integrating ER and ERBB signaling in HR + HER2− breast cancer

open access: yesCell Death and Disease
Endocrine resistance poses a significant clinical challenge for patients with hormone receptor-positive and human epithelial growth factor receptor 2-negative (HR + HER2−) breast cancer. Dysregulation of estrogen receptor (ER) and ERBB signaling pathways

Metaphase and Interphase Cytogenetics with Alu-PCR-amplified Yeast Artificial Chromosome Clones Containing the BCR Gene and the Protooncogenes c-raf-1, c-fms, and c-erbB-21 [PDF]

open access: yes, 1992
A human yeast artificial chromosome (YAC) library was screened by polymerase chain reaction with oligonucleotide primers defined for DNA sequences of the BCR gene and the protooncogenes c-raf-1, c-fms, and c-erB-2.

Emerging treatment options for the management of brain metastases in patients with HER2-positive metastatic breast cancer. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
The widespread use of trastuzumab in the past decade has led to a significant and measureable improvement in the survival of patients with human epidermal growth factor receptor-2 (HER2) overexpressing breast cancer, and in many ways has redefined the ...

Identification of Crucial Drug Targets and Pathways to Reprogram Drug Resistance Through Epigenetic Modulation in Advanced Lung Cancer Using Integrated Bioinformatics Approach

open access: yesComputational and Systems Oncology, Volume 6, Issue 1, December 2026.
ABSTRACT Resistance to chemotherapy, which is demonstrated in almost every patient with advanced‐stage lung cancer (ALC), underscores an urgent need to unravel the underlying molecular mechanisms and identify novel strategies to overcome drug resistance. In the present study, an attempt was made to identify epigenetic targets and modulators that can be

Human Epidermal Growth Factor Receptor 2 Expression in Prostatic Carcinomas: A Systematic Review and Meta‐Analysis of a Potential Therapeutic Target

open access: yesThe Prostate, Volume 86, Issue 9, Page 1061-1068, June 15, 2026.
ABSTRACT Introduction The clinical relevance of HER2 expression profile in solid cancers has expanded with the evolving landscape of HER2 targeting agents. This systematic review and meta‐analysis aim to detail the prevalence of HER (over)expression in prostate cancer and identify patient/disease subgroups with enriched HER2 overexpression.

Genomic Landscape Analysis of Canine Pulmonary Adenocarcinoma Reveals Candidate Targetable Gene Fusions

open access: yesVeterinary and Comparative Oncology, Volume 24, Issue 2, Page 393-406, June 2026.
ABSTRACT Spontaneously occurring primary canine pulmonary adenocarcinoma (cPAC) exhibits clinicopathological and molecular similarities to never‐smoker human lung cancers. Shared genomic alterations, including point mutations, indel mutations and copy number changes particularly in HER2 signalling, are significant therapeutic targets, especially for ...

Glial Growth Factor 2 Regulates Glucose Transport in Healthy Cardiac Myocytes and During Myocardial Infarction via an Akt-Dependent Pathway

open access: yesFrontiers in Physiology, 2019
Neuregulin (NRG), a paracrine factor in myocytes, promotes cardiac development via the ErbB receptors. NRG-1β also improves cardiac function and cell survival after myocardial infarction (MI), although the mechanisms underlying these cardioprotective ...

ErbB3 Phosphorylation as Central Event in Adaptive Resistance to Targeted Therapy in Metastatic Melanoma. Early Detection in CTCs during Therapy and Insights into Regulation by Autocrine Neuregulin [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
In recent years the introduction of target therapies with BRAF and MEK inhibitors (MAPKi) and of immunotherapy with anti-CTLA-4 and anti-PD-1 monoclonal antibodies have dramatically improved survival of metastatic melanoma patients. Despite these changes

The neural crest‐associated gene ERRFI1 is involved in melanoma progression and resistance toward targeted therapy

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, Volume 20, Issue 5, Page 1185-1201, May 2026.
ERRFI1, a neural crest (NC)‐associated gene, was upregulated in melanoma and negatively correlated with the expression of melanocytic differentiation markers and the susceptibility of melanoma cells toward BRAF inhibitors (BRAFi). Knocking down ERRFI1 significantly increased the sensitivity of melanoma cells to BRAFi.

Co-cultures with stem cell-derived human sensory neurons reveal regulators of peripheral myelination [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Effective bidirectional signalling between axons and Schwann cells is essential for both the development and maintenance of peripheral nerve function. We have established conditions by which human induced pluripotent stem cell-derived sensory neurons can
