Cell Signaling by Receptor Tyrosine Kinases [PDF]

open access: yesCell, 2010
Recent structural studies of receptor tyrosine kinases (RTKs) have revealed unexpected diversity in the mechanisms of their activation by growth factor ligands. Strategies for inducing dimerization by ligand binding are surprisingly diverse, as are mechanisms that couple this event to activation of the intracellular tyrosine kinase domains.

Resistance mechanisms of epidermal growth factor receptor tyrosine kinase inhibitors in non‐small cell lung cancer patients: A meta‐analysis

open access: yesThoracic Cancer, 2021
Background Differences in the resistance mechanisms of epidermal growth factor receptor tyrosine kinase inhibitors in patients with non‐small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) harboring epidermal growth factor receptor mutations are unknown.

Inhibition of Food Intake by PACAP in the Hypothalamic Ventromedial Nuclei is Mediated by NMDA Receptors [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
Central injections of pituitary adenylate cyclase-activating polypeptide (PACAP) into the ventromedial nuclei (VMN) of the hypothalamus produce hypophagia that is dependent upon the PAC1 receptor; however, the signaling downstream of this receptor in the

Receptor tyrosine kinases and their activation in melanoma [PDF]

open access: yesPigment Cell & Melanoma Research, 2011
SummaryReceptor tyrosine kinases (RTKs) and their downstream signalling pathways have long been hypothesized to play key roles in melanoma development. A decade ago, evidence was derived largely from animal models, RTK expression studies and detection of activated RAS isoforms in a small fraction of melanomas.

PTK2 and PTPN11 expression in myelodysplastic syndromes

open access: yesClinics, 2013
OBJECTIVE: The aim of this study was to evaluate the expression of protein tyrosine kinase 2 and protein tyrosine phosphatase non-receptor type 11, which respectively encode focal adhesion kinase protein and src homology 2 domain-containing protein ...

Ectopic repression of receptor tyrosine kinase–like orphan receptor 2 inhibits malignant transformation of ovarian cancer cells by reversing epithelial–mesenchymal transition

open access: yesTumor Biology, 2017
Receptor tyrosine kinase–like orphan receptor 2 is an enzyme-linked receptor which specifically modulates WNT5A signaling and plays an important role in tumorigenesis, invasion, and metastasis; however, the precise role of receptor tyrosine kinase–like ...

Signal peptide-CUB-EGF-like repeat-containing protein 1-promoted FLT3 signaling is critical for the initiation and maintenance of MLL-rearranged acute leukemia

open access: yesHaematologica, 2022
A hallmark of mixed lineage leukemia gene-rearranged (MLL-r) acute myeloid leukemia that offers an opportunity for targeted therapy is addiction to protein tyrosine kinase signaling.

Function of the c-Met receptor tyrosine kinase in carcinogenesis and associated therapeutic opportunities

open access: yesMolecular Cancer, 2018
c-Met is a receptor tyrosine kinase belonging to the MET (MNNG HOS transforming gene) family, and is expressed on the surfaces of various cells. Hepatocyte growth factor (HGF) is the ligand for this receptor.
