Biomimetic Microstructured Scaffold with Release of Re‐Modified Teriparatide for Osteoporotic Tendon‐to‐Bone Regeneration via Balancing Bone Homeostasis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study develops RPTH by re‐modifying teriparatide and designs a biomimetic microstructured scaffold (BMRP) loaded with RPTH to address osteoporotic tendon‐to‐bone interface repair. The BMRP restores tissue architecture by balancing bone homeostasis and remodeling the microstructure, achieving functional recovery in an osteoporotic rotator cuff tear

Cardiac Slc25a49‐Mediated Energy Reprogramming Governs Doxorubicin‐Induced Cardiomyopathy through the G6P–AP‐1–Sln Axis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Doxorubicin‐induced cardiomyopathy involves mitochondrial energy metabolism dysfunction, exacerbated by cardiomyocyte‐specific Slc25a49 deficiency via oxidative phosphorylation (OXPHOS) suppression and glycolysis activation. The Slc25a49–glucose‐6‐phosphate (G6P)–activator protein‐1 (AP‐1) axis drives myocardial injury by upregulating Sln, disrupting ...

SNeCT: Scalable network constrained Tucker decomposition for integrative multi-platform data analysis [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2017
Motivation: How do we integratively analyze large-scale multi-platform genomic data that are high dimensional and sparse? Furthermore, how can we incorporate prior knowledge, such as the association between genes, in the analysis systematically? Method: To solve this problem, we propose a Scalable Network Constrained Tucker decomposition method we call

Topics of Interest in Women With Myeloproliferative Neoplasms

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Hematology, EarlyView.
Women with MPN: life‐cycle phases, specific risks, and influencing factors. ABSTRACT Overview Sex and gender have emerged as central modifiers of disease biology, phenotype, and clinical outcomes in myeloproliferative neoplasms (MPNs). This review will uniquely highlight issues affecting women with MPN and articulate their relevant determinants ...

LIBX‐A401: A Novel Selective Inhibitor of Acyl‐CoA Synthetase Long Chain Family Member 4 (ACSL4) and Its Binding Mode

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
The discovery of LIBX‐A401, a potent and selective ACSL4 inhibitor derived from rosiglitazone is reported. HDX‐MS reveals that LIBX‐A401 stabilizes the ACSL4 C‐terminus and alters the fatty acid (FA) gate domain. Consistently, photoaffinity labeling, molecular dynamics, and mutagenesis identify key binding residues within the FA pocket.

Potential New Expression Biomarkers for Anorexia Nervosa

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Medical Genetics Part B: Neuropsychiatric Genetics, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Anorexia nervosa (AN) is a psychiatric disorder with an estimated heritability of around 70%. Although the largest meta‐analysis of genome‐wide association studies on AN identified independent risk‐conferring loci for the disorder, the molecular mechanisms underlying the genetic basis of AN remain to be elucidated.

Screening of BindingDB database ligands against EGFR, HER2, Estrogen, Progesterone and NF-kB receptors based on machine learning and molecular docking [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv
Breast cancer, the second most prevalent cancer among women worldwide, necessitates the exploration of novel therapeutic approaches. To target the four subgroups of breast cancer "hormone receptor-positive and HER2-negative, hormone receptor-positive and HER2-positive, hormone receptor-negative and HER2-positive, and hormone receptor-negative and HER2 ...

Self‐Administered Taste Testing Without Water: Normative Data for the 53‐Item Waterless Empirical Taste Test (WETT®)

open access: yesInternational Forum of Allergy &Rhinology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background According to the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES), more than 20 million Americans suffer from chronic taste problems. Unfortunately, quantitative testing is rarely performed, self‐reports are inaccurate, and “taste” is often confused with olfaction‐dependent flavors.

Premenopausal bilateral oophorectomy and Alzheimer's disease imaging biomarkers later in life

open access: yesAlzheimer's &Dementia, EarlyView.
Abstract INTRODUCTION Premenopausal bilateral oophorectomy (PBO) before the age of 46 years is associated with an increased risk of dementia. We investigated the long‐term effects of PBO performed before age 50 years on amyloid beta (Aβ), tau, and neurodegeneration imaging biomarkers of Alzheimer's disease (AD).

Predictive biomarkers for 5‐ALA‐PDT can lead to personalized treatments and overcome tumor‐specific resistances

open access: yesCancer Reports, Volume 5, Issue 12, December 2022., 2022
Abstract Background Photodynamic therapy (PDT) is a minimally invasive, clinically approved therapy with numerous advantages over other mainstream cancer therapies. 5‐aminolevulinic acid (5‐ALA)‐PDT is of particular interest, as it uses the photosensitiser PpIX, naturally produced in the heme pathway, following 5‐ALA administration.
