Abstract Aim Individual second‐generation antihistamines may possess differential sedative potential due to the variability in central histamine receptor H1 occupancy. This study aimed to evaluate whether the sedative potential of second‐generation antihistamines is associated with the risk of injury during Japan's pollen season. Methods We conducted a

Segmental Hair Analysis of Diphenhydramine and Cyclizine Following a Single Dose
A single oral dose of diphenhydramine and cyclizine can be quantified in human head hair for a minimum of 5 months and, in certain cases, for up to 1 year following intake. Among 12 study participants, the measured concentrations ranged from 0 to 610 pg/mg within 1 year post‐intake.

Absence seizures: Update on signaling mechanisms and networks
Abstract Absence seizures (AS) are a hallmark of genetic generalized epilepsies (GGE), characterized by brief episodes of impaired consciousness accompanied by electroencephalographic spike‐and‐wave discharges (SWDs). Traditionally attributed to cortico‐thalamo‐cortical (CTC) dysrhythmia, emerging evidence suggests a more intricate pathophysiological ...

Renal histamine H1 and H2 receptors: characterization and functional significance
Canine experiments were designed to determine if both histamine H1 and H2 receptors are present in the renal circulation. Renal blood flow (RBF) increased steeply over the first minute of intra-arterial histamine infusion, then increased gradually to a ...
