Laminin receptors and laminin-binding proteins during tumor invasion and metastasis.

Invasion & metastasis, 1993
Interactions between cancer cells and laminin, a major component of basement membranes, play a critical role at several steps of the complex process of tumor invasion and metastasis. These interactions are mediated through a large variety of cell surface proteins designated as laminin receptors and/or laminin-binding proteins.

The role of subendothelial laminin and platelet laminin receptors in haemostasis.

Nouvelle revue francaise d'hematologie, 1992
Laminin (LM) is a basement membrane glyco-protein which exhibits a number of biological activities, including the promotion of cell attachment and migration. In a static system, platelets attach to LM without spreading. In order to elucidate the mechanisms mediating platelet-LM interactions under flow conditions, we studied the effects of blocking ...

Laminin receptors in the integrin family.

Pathologie-biologie, 1993
Integrins are membrane receptors, consisting of an alpha and a beta subunit, which are involved in cell adhesion. Their extracellular domain is able to bind to ligands such as laminin which occurs in basement membranes of various kinds of cells. Most of these integrins, with their intracellular domains, interact with the actin-containing cytoskeleton ...
