The LDL-Receptor Family

1998
Recently we described the specific inhibitory action of lactoferrin on chylomicron remnant (CR) uptake into the intact rat liver. Injection of lactoferrin but not transferrin (7 mg/100 g animal weight) together with radiolabelled CR inhibits in vivo uptake into liver by 50%. No inhibition of uptake into spleen was observed1.

Familial hypercholesterolaemia and LDL receptor mutations

Journal of Internal Medicine, 1992
Abstract. Inherited defects in the gene for the low density lipoprotein (LDL)‐receptor give rise to familial hypercholesterolaemia (FH), a disorder in which defective catabolism of LDL causes a marked increase in its concentration in plasma. As a result, there is excessive deposition of cholesterol in the arterial wall leading to accelerated ...

LDL-receptor i hiperkolesterolemija

2003

Regulation of LDL Receptors in vivo

1984
The information reviewed here indicates that LDL receptor activity in vivo is regulated in normal animals and probably in normal humans. Furthermore, LDL receptor activity is also regulated in patients with heterozygous Familial Hypercholesterolemia. Our experiments in patients with this disease indicate that one can exploit the normal regulation of ...

[The LDL receptor family].

Orvosi hetilap, 2003
The members of the LDL receptor family are structurally related endocytic receptors. Our view on these receptors has considerably changed in recent years. Not only have new members of the family been identified, but also several interesting observations have been published concerning the biological function of these molecules.

[The LDL receptor family].

Nihon rinsho. Japanese journal of clinical medicine, 2000
The LDL receptor family is known to bind and internalize apoE-rich lipoproteins, and thought to play a role in lipoprotein metabolism. The recently identified new members showed the structural heterogeneity in the family, and molecular biological approach using animal models revealed the essential biological function in neural development.
