Identification of thyrotropin-releasing hormone receptor in the rat testis
Neuropeptides, 1994We have recently documented the expression of preprothyrotropin-releasing hormone (TRH) gene in murine, human and rat testis. Moreover, we have localized TRH to rat Leydig cells immunohistochemically, and found that both prepro TRH mRNA and TRH levels are developmentally regulated in the rat testis.

Solubilization and characterization of pituitary thyrotropin-releasing hormone receptors.
Molecular Pharmacology, 1989Thyrotropin-releasing hormone (TRH) receptors were solubilized from a rat pituitary tumor cell line, GH4C1, with digitonin. Convenient assays were developed based on the ability of hydroxylapatite and polyethyleneimine-soaked glass fiber filters to adsorb the solubilized [3H]methyl-TRH-receptor complex but not free [3H]methyl-TRH.

Attached GH3 cells were incubated for 30 min at 37 degrees C in presence of a tracer amount of 3H-TRH (200 pg/ml, 0.54 nM) and increasing quantities of cold synthetic TRH.

Pharmacology, 1989The effect of hypothyroidism on the thyrotropin-releasing hormone (TRH) receptors in several brain regions and pituitary of rats was determined. TRH receptors were labeled with 3H-(3-MeHis2)TRH (3H-MeTRH). Hypothyroidism was induced in male Sprague-Dawley rats by administering methimazole (0.05% w/v) in drinking water for 32 days.
