Effects of Recombinant Erythropoietin on Breast Cancer-Initiating Cells

open access: yesNeoplasia: An International Journal for Oncology Research, 2007
BACKGROUND: Cancer anemia causes fatigue and correlates with poor treatment outcome. Erythropoietin has been introduced in an attempt to correct these defects.

Altitude or heat training to increase haemoglobin mass and endurance exercise performance in elite sport

open access: yesThe Journal of Physiology, EarlyView.
Abstract figure legend Upper panel, high‐altitude training typically encompasses 3–4 weeks of altitude exposure combined with training either at altitude or at sea level. Following this, a response for haemoglobin mass (Hbmass) is seen in two of three studies, which coincides with some performance gains in <50% of studies.

Augmenting erythropoiesis using recombinant human erythropoietin at sea level blunts the high altitude induced increase in erythropoiesis

open access: yesThe Journal of Physiology, EarlyView.
Abstract figure legend Pharmacologically augmenting erythropoiesis with rEPO at sea level blunts the high altitude induced erythropoiesis. Abstract Erythropoiesis increases with high altitude (HA) acclimatization. Recombinant human erythropoietin (rEPO) induces erythropoiesis.

Neuroprotective effect of a new variant of Epo nonhematopoietic against oxidative stress

open access: yesRedox Biology, 2018
Human erythropoietin is mainly recognized for its hematopoietic function; however, by binding to its receptor (EpoR), it can activate different signaling pathways as STAT, PI3K, MAPK and RAS to increase cellular differentiation or provide neuroprotective

The role of recombinant Human erythropoietin in neonatal anemia

open access: yesHematology/Oncology and Stem Cell Therapy, 2020
Aim: To estimate the blood level of Erythropoietin(EPO) in neonates with anemia of prematurity (APO) and in late hypo-regenerative anemia and to clarify role of EPO in correction of anemia and reducing the number of blood transfusions.

Efficacy and Safety Analysis of Roxarestat in Regulating Renal Anemia in Patients on Maintenance Hemodialysis

open access: yesTherapeutic Apheresis and Dialysis, Volume 30, Issue 4, Page 585-593, August 2026.
ABSTRACT Objective To compare the efficacy and safety of roxarestat versus recombinant human erythropoietin (rhEPO) in the management of renal anemia in patients undergoing maintenance hemodialysis. Methods This was a prospective, open‐label, randomized controlled trial.

Darbepoietin-alfa has comparable erythropoietic stimulatory effects to recombinant erythropoietin whilst preserving the bone marrow microenvironment

open access: yesHaematologica, 2013
Erythropoiesis stimulating agents are widely used for the treatment of anemia. Recently, we reported erythroid expansion with impaired B lymphopoiesis and loss of trabecular bone in C57BL/6 mice following ten days of treatment with low-dose short acting ...

MiR‐513a promotes human erythroid differentiation by modulating c‐Jun

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, Volume 16, Issue 8, Page 1509-1526, August 2026.
During early human erythropoiesis, miR‐513a promoted erythroid differentiation in primary human CD34+ hematopoietic stem‐progenitor cells and human TF‐1 erythroleukemic cells by indirectly decreasing c‐Jun and phospho‐c‐Jun expression, which are associated with increased GATA1 expression.

A Systematic Review on Disease‐Modifying Therapies in Parkinsonian Disorders

open access: yesClinical Pharmacology &Therapeutics, Volume 120, Issue 2, Page 357-374, August 2026.
Parkinsonian disorders, including Parkinson's disease, Lewy body dementia, multiple system atrophy, and progressive supranuclear palsy, are progressive neurodegenerative conditions with no treatment options to slow disease progression. This systematic review provides an overview of evidence of disease‐modifying therapies that have been evaluated in ...

Expression and analysis of the glycosylation properties of recombinant human erythropoietin expressed in Pichia pastoris

open access: yesGenetics and Molecular Biology, 2011
The Pichia pastoris expression system was used to produce recombinant human erythropoietin, a protein synthesized by the adult kidney and responsible for the regulation of red blood cell production.
